I have the creeping tach problem and am wondering if i could install a shift light. I dont want to buy a hole tach just the light part that is sold seprate, can anyone tell me how hard this is to hookup, and is there a write up on it?

Most shift lights are VERY easy to install. They just "plug into" your Tach wire (RPM wire) leading to your tachometer/ECU. Autometer, Harlan, MSD, etc are some great reputable shift lights.....
But do know that most shift lights require the use of "pills", that are actual "chips" that you have to buy separately to get the wanted shift point. The Harlan shift light, found at www.harlan-engineering.com does NOT need the pills. I personally am using this one and I love it.....
