exhaust system 03

Hey guys. I could use some advice. I got on 03 Maxima SE. I want an exhaust system that gives performance...3 inch diamter, corrosion proof, etc...I've been looking at (but not exclusively) the Greddy EVO system, anyone know anything about this particular system? I want a system that'll give some performance, but honestly won't sound like a rice rocket...you know what I mean? Anyone have any suggestions? I'd appreciate it alot.

3" is pointless unless you're boosted, 2.5" someone even said that 2.75" is enough...

i'll ask my dad about that, cuz we have 3inch on all of our cars, but they're all chevy 350's and 454's (v8)...maxima's only got a 3.5 in them. Do you have any exhaust system suggestions, ivelweys? thanks.

2.5 seems to be what i'm hearing. I guess it's the way to go...do you know of any, and if you do, can you reccomend some high performance systems that don't sound like rice rockets?

The GReddy Evo is actually a very nice sounding exhuast. Not ricey at all and carries a very nice purr to it. Additionally, it gets softer as the car warms up and only under idle at cold start is it the loudest. I hope this helps some.

No one makes a 3" kit anyways. And custom 3" setups don't fit well on that car.

The only time you get the rice sound anyway is from a 4 cyl w/ JUST the muffler welded on, NOT the whold catback. Your everyday ricer can't afford $600 for an exhaust so he just purchases the muffler and calls it good.
I've personally heard only a handfull of 4 cyl cars that sound like they have intake, headers, full exhaust and they sound very nice and throaty for a 4 cyl.
You won't ever have to worry about that.
Good luck on your purchase (stick w/ 2.5")

Does a 1995 GXE qualify as a 5th gen Maxima?

you can have 3" pipes but your low end will suffer, 3.5L does not have enough displacement.
