Check this one out. Sorry if this is a repost.
Can someone post the damn CARFAX
If the car was sold at an auction there is no way this bithc has 300 miles on it. The trip to the auction and back would be around 100-300 miles and never mind what the other owner put on

POSTTTTTTTT THE CARFAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
it could be BS but all of the BS arguements in this thread can be explained easily.
as for the trip being between 2 and 3. like someone said earlier...if the reset button isnt pressed hard enough sometimes all the numbers dont totally reset to 0.
the comment about most new cars only having a few dozen miles on it and the comment about if the car went to auction it would have a few hundred miles. what if the car really did have 40 miles on it when it was new and it went to storage for whatever reason? then it was driven 100 miles to and from auction? thats only 240 miles.
or it could have been towed to auction.
the key in the ignition is not the orginal key which means that the original keys may have been lost. so that is a reason why it could have been towed to and from auction.
"doing the math...that is exactly 0.109 miles a day. My crap detector is going AWOL!" -- it was in storage for 8 years. thats 0.00 miles per day.
the car has gone through 9 different registrations. why would you register a car you dont drive? -- i could be wrong about this but i thought that there were was a law that as long as you pay the required personal property tax on a car it must be continually registered. does anyone have any input on that?
no 8 year old leather seat with regular use would look as good as that driver's seat (though they could be new seat covers)
no 8 year old engine could be that clean unless it was in storage for 8 years (though it could have been professionally cleaned but i doubt it)
look how clean the muffler is.
look how new the tires look.
there is no wear on the steering wheel.
there is no wear on the center arm rest from the driver's elbow.
there is no wear on the shift ****.
there is no wear on the floormat that i can see. even my car has significant wear on the mat after 1.5 years of use.
with a brand new car being in storage from the very beginning and the new owner not having any of the original keys it seems like the first owner may have passed away or left the country and the storage company finally decided to empty the locker.
it seems legit to me.

i emailed the guy asking about the odometer (before i realized that it was between the 2 and the 3) and this was his answer:
"the tripometer says 210 miles not 610 we bought this car off the United States Government the DEA department it was confiscated off someone in 1995. I have all the paperwork from the DEA stating the correct miles trust me I don't think the government turned back the miles."

my 91 also had bose too
here are some emails he sent to me...i think you can figure out the Qs I was asking him...
"buddy thats a 2 not a 5 and trust me this car we bought from the United States government the DEA department and i have all the paperwork to prove that the miles are correct and i don't think the DEA turned the odometer back"
"it was garaged because the DEA confiscated it off someone. The car was stored while the trial took place, and no damage whatsoever"
"oh yea i have drivien the car it runs brand new and i'm sure they did regular maintenance of the car while it was in storage but like i said it's just like going to a new car dealer and buying the car off the showroom"
"i am not positive it was maintained, but i mean if they just left the car i think some wear would be on the car but there is no wear whatsoever. I am selling the car for 13,000 and i own a car dealership in Rhode Island thats why i'm selling the car."
Still sounds fishy to me. If it is true a car sitting around for that long is going to have loads of problems according to everyone I have talked to.
