Brake Problem

My friend who said he knew what he was doing changed my rear brakes. Now I have to pump the brakes before I drive to make the brake peddle hard. If I don't pump it there is no feel to it at all, it just goes straight down with no pressure. What did he do wrong?

Also same with the parking brake. I pull it up and there is no force.

parking brake too?? parking brake is cable actuated... hmm

well as for the pumping pedal, there is air in your lines. u will have to bleed it... when changing the pads, u should unscrew the brake fluid resevoir, but make sure u tighten it back up when you are done.
