I have it and love it, it really leaves a nice shine. After I wash my car people have asked me if I have a new paint job, and it is very convinient. I use it everytime I wash my car (I am going to wipe it down anyway so might as well wax it too) not sure if it really gives great paint protection but it makes it really glossy.

I have been using it for about a year now.

Some guy told me that his painter told him that wax is useless, especially in humid/hot climates like Florida. He said the wax doesn't last for more then 10 minutes, and that this liquid stuff is the way to go. That was the first time I ever heard that though...

houston is plenty hot and humid...
but wax going away in 10 minutes is a bit extreme.

Street Reeper, does it last long for you?

I only use it on my rims after a wash. It is my "lazy" way of waxing my rims. They are 2yrs old but sparkle like brand new...so the wax does work.

My regular wax/polish is 3 coats of Zaino. I drive 3 blocks and all the water is beaded right off the car.

its a fast and very easy way to give your car a lil shine before you go out for the night and nothing more than that!

Make sure you never let this guy paint your car after a statement like that.

Where does he think the wax goes? Evaporates into the air?

All I know is my car beaded rain off a few times after I waxed it, and now it just sits there. It only beaded for a few days. I use mothers wax. So that's why I am suspecious... (sp?) Any factual reason why it would or would not strip off in hot and humid climates?

You need a V8 with real torque, the mighty thrust would peel any water off of your car. Buy an LS1 and you won't have to worry about waxing

Kind of an inside joke, if you don't have access to the OT forum or see a lot of Craigs post you wouldn't get it.

Come on Craig you know that I am on your side on that discussion and usually back you up, I was expecting to see a +1 when I clicked the folder that said you had replied.

Can't we all just drink and be merry

I am pretty sure wax is fine whether it's humid or not, call Meguires and ask that guy what his reasoning is.

To Fosgate Fan, I wash my car every week and that wax keeps it shiny as long as it doesn't rain for that amount of time, so I guess it is working well.

I know your a muscle car nut like I am, i'm just messing around, and I appriciate the back-up when defending American muscle. You could have a 12 second Civic revv next to a 14 second Cobra, and the Cobra would put it to shame. Basically, you can have the fastest 4 banger rice and it would still sound girly, buzzy and annoying, and you could have the slowest of the Slowbra's and still have it sound like a demon out of hell.

They need to make a VQ57DE-LS1....then offer a RWD conversion kit....talk about the ultimate car...

So, in summertime in Florida, how long do you think a coat of wax will last?

yea i've been using meguiar wax for awhile. the wax as you dry seems much easier

guess i'll give it a try.

and i don't see the logic behind wax just disappearing after 10 minutes of application.

I used to use the gold class wax, I really can't tell a difference other than I am done in 5min with the Eagle, and done in 45 with the Meguires.

I think the Meguires takes out minor swirls but I really can't tell a difference between the two.

I've tried the Eagle One Wax-As-You-Dry stuff. Eh, the shine is mediocre and not worth the manual labor.

Just Zaino or Klasse the damned thing. You won't be able to stop smiling.

It's liquid, it comes in a spray bottle that you spray onto your wet car and just dry it off with the rest of the water.

Question: I use a big car squeegee to get most of my water off, then use a towel to get the crevises and what I missed with the squeegee. Will this stuff work with a squeegee or does it need to be "rubbed" in with a towel?

i just use a big 100% cotton towel. i guess if you squeegee it, the wax won't be spread evenly.

The eagle one product is to be used as a suplemental wax to keep up your orginal wax job. It shouldnt be used as a wax by itself or it wont work. It says that on the bottle by the way

I picked some up today. That's how I intend to use it but I didn't see that on the bottle anywhere.

I did the Meguires High tech yellow wax #26 today but I will try the 'wax as you dry' in between full waxings.

I wouldn't recommend using any wax over Zaino... most likely it will just haze it up. Just stick to the normal quick detailing spray after each wash and it'll be *bling* *bling*

It's hitting mid-90s in Houston now, and my wax lasts about a month (8 car washes). This is based on water beading, not shine.

I use Zymol wax, which according to a BMW buddy tested high in a very unscientific but pretty comprehensive wax test.

Truthfully, it really depends on the kind of wax you use and the environment you are in. For example, S100 will last me a month to a month and a half here in Chicago. However, it may last you a month in Florida dependent on the environment you are in.
