my maxima was a fleet vehicle..

usually means its a company car... could have been beaten around, but the companies that purchased say, 10 maximas from nissan, signed a maintenance contract to make sure they worked.. mine is in good condition, 2 scratches that are eyesores, but interior was like new....

ummm no

sales to rental companies are also considered fleet sales.
so the car may be a rental.

No, the more the reason to give that car a second chance. Since you dont know what type of company it once belong to (rental, private, etc.) and going less than 1000 miles in one year that leads me to believe it was definately was not a rental company and more so a private or other. Not to say private companies can't dog out a car, but under 1000 miles during that time frame is a good thing to "me" Like any other used car, take it to a good mechanic and if it looks good (mechanically) and the price is right, why not.

Fleet / Rental / Company car... all pretty much the same.

16 Ways to Recognize a Company Car

1. They travel faster in all gears, especially reverse.
2. They accelerate at a phenomenal rate.
3. They enjoy a much shorter braking distance.
4. They can take bumps at twice the speed on private cars.
5. Oil, battery, tire pressures and fluid levels do not need to be checked nearly so often.
6. They have a much tighter turning radius.
7. The floor is shaped like an ashtray.
8. They only burn the cheapest gas available.
9. They do not have to be garaged at night.
10. They can be driven up to 100 miles with the oil warning light on.
11. They need cleaning less often, especially inside.
12. The suspension and trunk floor are reinforced to allow concrete slabs and other heavy building materials to be carried.
13. They are adapted to allow reverse to be engaged while the car is still in forward motion.
14. The tire side walls are designed for bumping into and over curbs.
15. Unusual and alarming engine noises are easily eliminated by the adjustment of the radio volume control.
16. No security is need. They may be left anywhere, unlocked, with the keys in the ignition.

I definitely wouldn't get a fleet vehicle.. I know when I rent rental cars I beat on it like no tomorrow. Put it this way I only get 150mile usally to a whole tank of gas on any of my rentals. And they usually hold like 15gallons
