I took a trip over the weekend in my recently purchased 91 max. I was wondering what kind of gas mileage they "should" get city/hwy?
I seem to average about 19 in city and on my trip I averaged 24 mostly highway driving.
Does that seem normal or should I check the normal stuff? (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, O2 sensor)

i get 25 - 30 regularly in my 2k2 6-speed... not sure if that helps

 

I'm not sure about the 3rd gen but I used to get 28-30 on the highway, but it had to be a good 160-200 miles highway only (98 SE 5-spd). My last trip I avg'd 26.5 with a clean K&N, which was disappointing, but I got caught in Manhattan in stop-go which ruined the mpgs. Nobody seems to agree but I am positive a dirty air filter can take 2-3 mpg away from the highway average. I went on a really long trip and only got 25.5--when I took out the air filter it was covered with grime and fuzzy stuff. If you really track your mileage you're even gonna find that you get different mpg's depending on which direction you're going--Philly to NYC is less mpg than NYC to Philly. NYC to Montreal is less than Montreal to NYC--not sure why, maybe more uphill one way than the other.

 

I get about 20-21 on my 2K1.. And that's with boost

 

i get 29-31 mpg in my 93 SE auto.

what are the top things to do so u can make ur milage better.... spark plugs?

 

I'm throwing alot of money down the drain. With a full take of 93, I
got 253 miles out of the 18.5 gallon tank. I'm averaging 13.67 miles
per gallon.

I did a diagnostic on my engine and my knock sensor, two oxygen sensor needs to be replace. I'm jealous of the amount of miles you guys get from your Maximas. Anyone know the price to replace all the oxygen sensor? or do anyone have any picture instruction on how to replace the senors? Any help would really appreciate...
