some new pics of my car

Check out my homepage. I updated it a bit, took out all the old pics. Here are just a little of what I done to the car currently:

1. 97-99 trunk lid with key hole shaved. I couldn't find a buyer locally, so I just went ahead and get the trunk lid fixed and painted. When I got the trunk lid, it wasn't perfect by any means. It had a few dents. You can tell from the pics, the trunk lid fitment isn't perfect, you can clearly see that it's off a bit. I'm still using the 95-96 rear bumper, not sure if that has anything to do with the fitment.

2. 97-99 red/clear tails. I bought it from Custommaxima. Surprisingly, it got to me pretty fast. Looks very good.

3. Custom third brake light. The trunk lid didn't have a spoiler. I could have use the spoiler that was on my '96 trunk lid, but the spoiler wasn't in good shape, plus I wanted a non-spoiler look. I still need a third brake light, but didn't want to use the factory boxy third brake light, which I would have to buy. So I took the LED off of the spoiler of the '96 trunk and mount the LED near the rear. Not exactly a good look on the inside, but it sure look darn good from the outside, especially at night!

4. 17x8 SSR Competitions with 235/45/17 Sumitomo HTR+ tires. I couldn't afford the 18s, so I had to go with the 17s. Total weight is 38lbs for wheels and tires. Finally some light weight wheel/tire combo, but too bad I'm now slow as heck since I only have a hacked stock air box and Apexi WS exhaust as my only "power" mods.

5. KYB AGX struts and H&R springs. I'm going to swap the front AGXs with Tokico Blues soon though.

6. Finally, I painted the brake calipers black. Looks better than I thought.

I will have better pics later on. These will have to do for now. Comments?

lookin good man. That is where I have my 3rd brake light mounted. I like it there so much better than the oem placement. I have customized a nice piece to make it look like it was supposed to be there. Car is lookin good, nice and clean..

Car looks great Mike, I've seen a lot of '97-'99s with the right side higher than the left. I think that's a factory glitch with the mounts but it should be easily adjustable. The SSRs look great especially with those beautiful brakes behind them.. and I like the 3rd brakelight thing too.. very original.

Thanks guys.

I got a good deal at the bodyshop where I took the trunk lid to. My friend works there and got me a discounted price. Plus, they threw in the shaved key hole no charge. I plan to get the antenna shaved off too whenever I'm going to get the whole car repainted. Also, I would need to get the holes in the both front fenders filled at that time. You can see from the pics, I used Nissan emblems to cover up the holes. I had sidemarkers there before, thus explained the holes. I'm probably going to get me a kit first, probably the Stillen kit. I want to keep the clean and simple theme going. So no Skyline kit, even though I like the sides and rear of the Skyline kit.

Yup, I made up my mind(pun intended) to keep modding the car. However, I'm going strictly just for "show" now. So no more "power" mods. I'm not going all out though. Just enough to make the car look good. Not enough to enter my car into a show...lol.

Maxima-2: thanks, but the one I have now is good enough.

Update: just got the front Tokico Blues in today. I'm going to swap them on this week. I just hope the ride will improve greatly.

lol...still too rich for my blood. Why don't you get it and custom fit it to your 5th gen? Like I said in his thread to Kev, don't wait for me to sell my "turbo".
