I can't seem to find mobil1 filters to go w/ my mobil1 synthetic oil.

What do you guys use?

What frequency do you change the filter? I plan to start changing the synthetic every 7500 and have it tested.

I plan to only change the filter at oil changes (7500 miles) that should be ok right? I thought mobil1 filters can handle that type of mileage.

thoughts? suggestions?

thx

Robert

has mobil one filters. i use puralator. or castrol. i think the regular filters flow the oil back faster to the engine than the filters with more filtering capabilities. you can get the racing metal filters for 60+$. which flow faster.

I looked for mobil 1 oil filters and I can never seem to find one. I don't think they even make one for maximas. am I wrong or what? I just use Fram extra guard.

While I bought a case of 6 Mobil 1 for my Maxima, I asked the sales at Autozone if they have a Mobil 1 filter that's correctly-sized for the Maxima. And they did. So I am pretty sure that there's a Mobil 1 filter for Maxima.

Purulator here, I can across two free case
I also spoke to a Mobil 1 service advisor and they still recommend changing the filter every 3K but acknowledge the oil can go longer, what else would they say? Me personally I use to go 4k between oil changes, but since the oil cooler was installed I'm now checking the oil condition every 5K and change accordingly.

Man, don't use Fram. Take a look inside the hole next time->
One thing is missing. No anti-drain back valve. Compare it to the Nissan OEM or AC-Delco. The anti-drain back valve is the spring thingy when you look into the hole. The oil will all drain back to the pan and when you start the car nex time. Unnecessary wear on the engine. If you have to pick a brand off the shelf. Get the AC-Delco.

Mobil 1
The Mobil 1 filter is available from AutoZone (for $10) or directly from Mobil online for the same price...

I'm pretty sure nobody reads a post that Jeff92se, shingles, or myself put up about oil and/or oil filters.

Amsoil oil filters last 12,500 miles according to Amsoil. I have laboratory tested proof that the Mobile 1 oil filter for the VQ lasts 10,400 miles with ULX-110 dino oil. I imagine the same results can be expected for Mobile 1 synthetic. From the impression I get from the Oil Filter Study, the Mobile 1 and Purolator filters are the best. IF YOU BUY FRAM YOU WILL PROBABLY RUIN YOUR CAR....

This isn't a knock on Robert, who is now on to happier days with his MR2, but others here should know better....

Mobile 1's oil filter is M1-110 for VQ engines. THESE ARE NOT EASY TO FIND. You have to visit probably every Autozone store in your area to obtain one. They do exist. The picture in this post proves that.

Robert, read my Amsoil post linked below in my sig, and just do a general search for "Amsoil". Any posts by Shing, Jeff, or myself should answer your questions about where to get oil analysis done, extended drain intervals, etc....

If you want to spend 4 times as much on your oil changes with Amsoil as the rest of us that use it, that's up to you. I just don't want people getting the wrong idea about Amsoil. It's for people, like myself, who are too lazy to crawl under a car more than once a year to change oil and want a bit better protection. It will protect your engines internals better from a wear standpoint, but your dino oil will too with 5k intervals and Mobile 1 with at least 10k intervals will do fine as well....

But replacing your oil when it doesn't need it is a waste of money....no matter what kind it is.....

I use genuine OEM Nissan filters for fuel and oil. You can't beat a great thing.

( I wasn't paid by Nissan to post this, hehe)
