Problems with aftermarket steering wheel

I have a Grant steering wheel. The installation kit consist of a metal plate that touches a pin from the car. The pin is for the horn. The problem is that the pin is metal so is the kit's plate. So everytime I turn the wheel, there is metal to metal contact. After a couple of months, the kit's metal part is demage, so the horns does not work. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a special lubricant to stop this?
I hate buying a kit every year before inspection.

Thanks, Jason.

I believe you have to cut the part of the spring that sticks out of the horn. I had to do it when putting my Grant 719 on my 68 Mustang. It grounds the horn otherwise.
