Re: reply to dyno..
Actually, a stock 5spd 4th gen dynos around 160-165hp. Automatic around 155hp stock.
So since the dyno on this run was 175hp, figure his mods add around 15hp, so he has around 205hp at the flywheel.

from what i remember without researching
archives of dyno's (who remembers where they are?) stock 5spd is around 160... or about 15% drive train loss (?)
so 175.7 puts around 206.7 @ the crank.
anyone have any dyno research to share? Dave B?

Confused:
I compared your dyno runs to mine and yours are extremely close to mine, including all the "bumps" and "valleys" in throughtout the bands. I make a slight bit more torque (193 ft/lbs) but that is well within the difference between dynojets. Our hp is identical. My mods at the time of my dyno were a HKS intake, Stillen Y-pipe, Courtesy B-pipe, and a RT cat.
I wouldn't sweat the numbers, if you're disappointed. All dynojets will read differently between models of dynojets, atmospheric conditions, and the conditions of your motor. You can't compare what your Max makes to another Max on a different dyno 3 states away. They all read differently. Many Pontiac GTP guys were dissappointed when they dynoed in Kansas City during their annual meet. Many of these guys were making 10-15 fwhp and tq less than what they were making in other parts of the country.
I hope to dyno again soon with my modified stock airbox, new exhaust gaskets, a 2K mufflr, and possibly a Super AFC.

thanks Dave,,, it was around where I was
expecting,, I had your #'s in mind as a benchmark to at least confirm I'm in the right neighborhood. I look forward to seeing your new results.

Dyno
I will might be able to charge that after the dyno is paid for and I pay the tech less. 3 runs at $50.00 is $17.00 a run.
So it's not that much more.

Re: Re: reply to dyno..
The average should be around 157-165hp for the 5spds and 145-154hp for the auto's. Back in jan 00 we dynoed 2 bone stock 97 auto's and a 95 auto. The 97s put down 145-147hp and the 95 did 151hp. The 95 also had about 200rpm more power till it dropped off. I believe Biomax put down like 180fwhp/190fwtq, while Shing in his *freaky* CRX put down 110fwhp with just I/H/E (stock D16's put have 108hp at the flywheel ). Also 2 SI's put down around 138-141hp, my max with a hot air intake put down 110hp/137tq.
