Fiberglass, we almost went with metal, but it's just too much work. And at the end, if the fiberglass work is quality, you really can't tell the difference.

I'm not really sure, a friend's shop is doing all the work, plus I'm getting some more stuff shaved, added and molded and the car is changing color again. But another friend had flares put on his Lexus IS along with molding the sideskirts and an Audi TT fuel door, and his total was about $3500 because they had to repaint the whole car. I'm guessing for the flares alone, it would be close to $2K because they'd have to repaint most of your car (fenders, quarter panels, rear doors). I don't think $1K would pay for a quality job, but you never know.

one of my friend got his E46 fendflares done acturlly wide body done. painted(OEM paint job) for $2g. So I am guessing $1g for maxima should be enough..... please post pic when you are done. I am thinking about doing it in 2 months

It's still going to be blue, just not an off the shelf blue anymore.
Right now, my car is Lexus IS blue, but in the 2 years since I painted it, it seems that this color is popping up everywhere. Kind of ****ed me off at a show once, when someone said "hey, you painted your car lexus blue just like other Maxima" considering this guy just painted his car a year after I did mine. I guess that's what you get when the color can be duplicated by any body shop.
So now, the car is going to be painted a custom candy metallic blue, I'm not even sure what the final shade will look like yet. My friend is custom mixing a bunch of paint and spraying test panels for me. Then I'll pick one, and no other car will ever be painted this particular color. Of course it means that I can't **** off my friend, or I'll never be able to match the paint again.
