I got 35% all around, smoke tint, and said he would only do this because he knew me so well (which he does) because he could not give me a reciept. The tint has many, many bubbles in it, but he said that I need to come back in 4-5 day and he will smooth it out (has anyone else had to do this)? I like the color, it is dark enough so people cannot see you well inside the cabin, but from inside light can penetrate fairly easily. The other car in those pictures had 20% for comparisons.
Thanks for all your help guys,

Why no receipt. That doesn't sound right. I'm below legal and have been below legal in the three states where I got tint done (NJ, NC, and MD) and got receipts from each. The places have just been up front about not being responsible if I get a ticket. the other things is that there should be no reason to have to return for bubbles. should have been smoothed out before you even left and then you just would not have been able to roll down the windows for a couple of days.

I don't mind the reciept thing, since I know the guy so well (I know he won't give me problems about that), but the bubbles are killing me. He told me up front I would see a lot of imperfections and not to panic, but I am panicing. Every other tint job I've seen comes out of the garage all done. Why isn't mine like that? I'll wait and see how it all looks Friday (when I will go back to the shop and have them finish it off), and if I'm unsatisfied I will ask for a redo. Thankgoodness for lifetime warranties.

HA!! I went 7% for the back doors and back window, then 15% for the front two windows. $169.00. Law here in Ohio is 50% all around. Sure. I haven't been caught yet, but I don't do much to get pulled over. If your willing to take the risk, get it dark. Looks good as hell and it's nice as hell during the sunny hot days!

I had 20% all around, 5% rear window on my 94. Perfect.
20% all around on my 97. Good, but it was a FL car and it was a bad tint job.
35% all around on my 98. Super light, served no purpose for me, except cosmetically. Cant imagine how horrible 50% is.
5% all around including moonroof and 1/3 of front windshield on the GS. Way too dark, especially with my tinted mirrors, dimming rear view, and the cars already horrible visibility.
If I was you, I'd go 20% all around, you'd be surprised how light that really is. Otherwise, I sort of consider it a waste of money.

13% is wicked! Visibility at night is wicked and during the day it's plain SICK... Hey Phil, we gotta see how much darker my 13 is than your 20... My buddy with his Civic @ 22% was surprised at how light it was from the inside... On the outside it looks wicked dark... On the other hand, i hear that a lot of people in the States get caught and have to rip off their dark tints, if i lived down there, i'd go 20%, or else, i'd get darker... Whatever you do, get the same % all the way around...
