Well my girl friend and I have been looking for a car for her off and on now for a while. It started with a Mazda MX-6 but after working on that thing three days straight it didn't work out and we took it back (which was one of the happiest days of my life.) She has been driving her old beater blazer while we have been trying to find another car.
I told her that I didn't want to be working on any junker and I don't want her to have to worry about having a reliable car. She really likes my car (in fact that was one of the first things she said to me was "nice car" probably why we're still together today) so we decided on a Maxima. We were looking for 2K-2K1 and a five speed but of course never found one. One lot had maximas but they had too many miles. Then we go to a Nissan lot. They have a bunch of Maximas and the sales man tells us they have not sold any cars all day and the sales manager is ****ed.
They have all auto's, but a couple of them are 3.5. I just wanted to test the waters so I asked him what the cheapest 3.5 was that they had. The cheapest is a Dark Blue SE (17's, HID's the usual) with 21,000 miles for $19,900. She is looking to spend about 15 so we never really looked at the 2k's, but asked how much they could get it down he said they could get it down but he didn't know how much.
We get in the office and without even seeing her beater blazer they do a rough estimate on it (check engine light, some dents and scratches on the outside etc. a torn seat) and come back and say they'll give us 3,000 for it. She still owed 5,300 on it and they said it wouldn't be a problem. So they are going to take over her payments and give her the car for 19,000. Then we get back to the finance department and they started throwing some numbers that confused her(she is a finance major and is going to graduate #1 in her class at OU)
They were trying to finance the car for 26,000! When she added up the payments and factored in the interest she found the problem and went straight to the head of the department. He apologized, fixed the payment, lowered the interest and now she is driving my dream car (besides transmission) with a 100,000 mile warranty. Her blazer wasn't worth 1,000 dollars so she pretty much got the car for 15,000.
It's not fair, I am the Maxima enthusiast, I am the one who truly appreciates the great power that is the VQ. She really likes it though and I am glad that we now each have a maxima. Now I just have to work on her to modify it, I think I'll start slowly like a Maxima.Org license plate frame to match mine.

Haven't totally ruled it out, but I am just hooked on these cars. I like the style and speed of this sedan, and since procharger has developed a supercharger for the 350z that does not require an oil return, I am guessing boost will be accomplished for the max too. Originally posted by Craig Mack

I really like the name too, MAXIMA!!
But the rumble of the awe-inspiring cobra with a little exhaust work is a thing of beauty; we'll have to see.
simple as that
