Is this a good deal for a 2000 Maxima SE?

http://www.getauto.com/autolinks_car...CA31D3YT506271

it costs 15k and my dad and i got it down to 13700 or something around there (not including taxes or anything). What do you all think?

I would rather have a smaller car, but I dont know what else is out there that isnt very expensive with a sunroof/spoiler on it. I wanted to really spend 12000-13000 before taxes and stuff. And is the non-bose speakers good? (compared to my 1985 oldsmobile regency 98 and I have a JVC mp3 player to replace their cd-player)

Or there is a Jetta with like 24k miles on it and i got them to add a sunroof for a total of 14k (not including taxes and stuff)

Thanks

What the hell happened to the 2K wheels? I've never been comfortable with buying a car with mismatched parts even the wheels?

I believe that on the 2k SE, they came with the 16 inch wheels. They upgraded the SE to the 17 inch wheels on the 2k1.

Yeah, i kept trying to post, and i kept getting an error on explorer that it didnt work...so i kept hitting back and trying again

the nissan is certified too, but i will have to pay an extra like 1000 for warrenty gold. And it turns out its certified, even though it was painted over, which is kinda wierd.

So is it a good deal, or any recommendations on a small car around 12.5k with sunroof/spoiler?

those are the 16s from the 97-99 SE, the stock 16s on 2k were diff, the 17s were optional on the 2k and standard on the 2k1 se. That's not a bad deal, good mileage too.

I am also going to have to ask "why are there 97-99 wheels on this car?" I would hold out for a 5spd! Just my biased opinion

ya got me. I bought the car a local mechanic to look over it and you can see where the spray paint was waved over. It could be from a few touch ups or something, we dont really know. I thought that cars cant be certified if it was repainted, its Nissan certified.

Time to go to work, long day working at movie theatre

Cya!

carfax it. Repainting a 2K is a *BIG* red flag in my book.

Repainted... New wheels... Has it been in an accident??? (don't expect the dealer to volunteer that info, even if asked)

Yeah, definitely do a Carfax. If the car checks out OK then I say go for it. Check out the other cars on here, that car could become a monster with a few mods. As far the wheels, maybe he knew someone that had a older Maxima and they traded before he turned the car in?

Yeah, im still shopping around.
carfax says its fine. Had 2 owners, one in NY, the other in NJ that he got off an auction. The car drives fine though, we drove it all over without the dealer to try it out and stuff.

Carfax is sometimes wrong though, a person can just bring it to his buddys shop and have them fix it and slip them some money so its not reported.

Im still looking around though shopping for other cars, but it sure drives and looks nice
