aftermarket alarm

Does an aftermarket alarm lower insurance rates?

Depends on the insurance company I would guess. My viper responder got me 15% off of part of my insurance. I forget the specific title for the portion that the percentage is taken off of, but it was the second largest part of my payment, besides collision. Still, it's not much. I think over a year it will work out to be about 50 bucks off insurance. Better than nothin, but it's not like your insurance costs will drop in half. It depends what alarm you get though, my company had a whole list of features, and they decided how much you got off by what features you had (the responder had all of them except vehicle recovery.. if I got lojak I would have saved 25%.. )
