Hydraulic shift transmission (not regular automatic)

Does anyone know if there exists a hydraulic shift transmission for a maxima, or for that matter for anything? I have been looking for them for a while, but short of learning japanese I can't figure out where to buy one.

Note: I am not talking about a regular automatic transmission, but rather the kind of manual trans that is computer controlled and shifted by hydraulic actuators. Some friends of mine claim that these are common in japan on regular cars.

thanks.

uugh no. I hate the mr2, but you are right I forgot those had them. Does anyone know how to get one that can handle High torque aplications? (you know as opposed to the 4 cylender toyota p.o.s. engine in the mr2)

Im not too familiar with the insides of those but maybe upgrade the friction discs in there or modify the pressures so that it will slip less from high loads.

Are you talking about a CVT?

no not a cvt. It is a regular manual transmission, but the clutch and shifter mechanisims are controlled by a computer to give you extremely fast shifts. Sometimes below 0.1 seconds.

I was not familiar with the smg ( http://www.turbo.screaming.net/smg.htm ) , but now that I have searched for it yes, that is what I am talking about. Who else makes a tranny setup like this, and where can they be found?

And there is no way I would use a spider tans in the car I am designing. It's expected horsepower output is from 700 hp to 1200 hp. (and no I am not talking about a maxima!)
