and now I am thinking of trading in my 96 I30t 5sp. The Max is a demo with only 650mi, white with the C&C package. It drove very nice, and I can feel it pulls stronger than my car. Now I'm torn between trading in for it and adding mods to my car. BTW, I had my car for a checkup and the Infiniti mechanic was very cool and said that I should keep my car because it's so rare. He even suggested to me to get a larger throttle body and a Stillen catback. I thought our throttle bodies are already pretty good, what do you guys think?

I had a simular desicion recently,

I was thinking of buying a 2000 Max or my I30 which were priced about the same{GXE Max},and you guessed it I chose my I30 instead since I like it's styling way more and over all fit and finish+ Infinti's great warranty. If you have a ton of miles on your I30 it may not be a bad idea to get a newer car,but if you have low miles why not have a little fun with it first.

Yea....there isn't much to mess with in the TB. Just leave that alone. Figure....the 95-96vq 5sp went to 60 in around 6.7secs. Now you have the infinti which i'm sure is somewhat heavier. I'd say 7.0 to 60. BUT you can get the intake, y, and ecu and not really add any "noise" to your car. The Intake and y are good for around 10-15hp(significant) and the ecu should also add a good deal...like a solid 10hp. Your car at that point would be pretty quick. You can add the rt cat(more hp) but no noise increase and keep your stock muffler. Then there is the pulleys.

Dunno tho....I love the 2k+ interior but your car is rare.

Thanks, guys. Well, my car has a lot of highway miles (106k) and even though the mechanic says it will last another 100k, I am starting to look around. The Max feels more rigid and more quiet on the highway, and the 17" wheels rode surprisingly well. I am looking for a deal at about $2500 under invoice, is that a fair price?

That sounds like a good price,I mean only 650 miles

its still brand new if you no what I mean. With 106K miles I probably would not invest a lot of money in a car unless of course you plan on keeping it for a while longer 2+years. I would say go for it but then there would be like 3090 Maxs here and 15 I30's , I feel like a imagrant{no offense to any imagrants reading this} and no it will be even worse hehe.

Emax... I'm an immagrant and I don't feel out of place.

BTW I'm not going to get in one of your stupid pissing mathes here so don't expect any reply's to your next even more ignorant post.

I'm trying to keep the discussion (and all in this forum, for that matter) on what the original post was regarding. I think getting into a measuring contest about how much more Maxes/I30s suck compared to I30s/Maxes leads to the personal attack path and that is worthless and does not help anyone out...especially older I30 owners who are considering going to a 5th gen Max.

I'm sure that I will appear the a$$ on more than one occasion, but if it keeps 'go nowhere' posts to a minimum, than it's worth it.

emax,

I figured you were in the middle of that last post, which was why I modified mine to say '2 shots' a piece is enough.

doug,

Continue to be yourself, as I usually get chuckled with your comments.....but I'm watching....
