Somone hit me while at work...and ran......

Well as I stroll outa the building today to leave work I notice from a far...my trunk looks dirty..........as I walk up......its not dirty the whole left side is caved in from someone backing into me. The bumper is scraped up..and the urethane is tore a little bit. Whoever did it cleaned every spec of paint off the beast though. My inner driver side tail light is also crushed in some. I will take pics later......this just ticks me off no one has the decency to come find someone in the building to say woops hit someone. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. All this comes while I am paying for a wedding, new apartment..etc.......sigh.........when it rains it pours. Doesnt appear to be a dent that can be pulled out so looks like a new trunk for me.....oh and did I forget to mention that suddenly appearing on my left passenger side quarter panel is a dent from someone opening their door on it. What the heck!

It's a darn shame--that the bride's family does not follow tradition anymore and pay for the wedding! Nowadays we get into the who's got more money BS. My cousin's fiance wants a fancy-a**ed wedding, and guess what? her parent's are poor working stiffs. So he is paying it himself because he is a MD. Makes no sense to me, imho tradition is just that and the bride's family should at least offer to take out a home equity loan and pay something, as a matter of pride.

About your car that su***. What's even worse is how the cops don't take it very seriously and the insurance holds it against you because you make a claim (I don't know that from personal experience, only from it happening to my friend--got cxld as a result of a hit-run claim).

I can relate

About a week ago some bastard hit my car and ran. I had just got my Max too!! It was odd because it looked like the guy on the other side was going to hit me so I got his tags just in case. (It was the last parking space left) I didn't notice my car was hit until I stopped somewhere an hour later, I was so mad. Anyways, when I first got my license I hit a parked car and ran....so I definately deserved it. Bad Karma

Update...no pics as of yet.....however we measured this one ladys expedition this morning that was parked behind me. Its interesting she has a bolt on the bottom on her bumper right where I have a tear in my bumper.....and the top of her bumper...the plastic area is right in line with where my scrapes are...I can see some rubbing on her plastic. I'm waiting for the cops to come this morning to report it and see what he thinks...........its odd she has been avoiding me this morning.

Was there any paint transfer from vehicle to vehicle? Any of one vehicle's paint transferred to another vehicle is a good sign. You'll probably sill have to get ther to admit it, though. Having th cop there might scare her into telling the truth though. I just wonder if the cops are even going to talk to her unless you can convince them that her vheicle was likely the culprit. Good luck!

you should definetely approach her and ask her if she by some odd chance back up into your car and effed it up. that the cops are coming to do an investigation.

Thats what I am thinking.......well her rear bumper is chrome stainless steel whatever so there wasnt any paint tranfer there..and its weird there really isnt any paint scratched on my car.....just pushed in bad like a slow hit..but on the light there is the remnants of what looks like plastic against plastic..and you can see on her plastich cover or step cover on her bumper where its kinda scuffed. So hopefully I can convince the cops. Plus the measurenmens line up just to well...and she was parked behind me.

I feel your pain dog, I hate parking by anyone, anywhere especially at Grocery stores and Malls because people will fling open their car door and hit your car, back into and say nothing and the worst is they leave those damn Shopping Carts in the parking spaces when there is an area right next to where the parked to return the carts.

Friggin iceholes.

The only way you will get that lady is if she admits to it. The police can't do anything but maybe intimidate her into confessing. I hope it works because you want her insurance to pay. But don't expect much if she knows the real deal.

Well talked to the cops and filed the report they aggread to send out an invetigator..to look at her car..and see if thats her plastic scuffed onto my lights. He did mention they cant say..u did it with no witnesess...but with the proper evidence get her to say she did it. I guess the only thing I can be hopefull about is say they cant fix the whole in the bumper.........and say it needs replaced..then I will try and get them to let me use an aftermarket bumper cover Hey I can dream cant I?

Reminds me of someone hitting my car in the parking lot of a grocery store, a day after I got it back from an accident prior to that. She left a note with her DL# and address. But when I called her, she didn't want to talk to me and said it was my fault

So I found her place, got her license plate #, went to the cops, reported my accident, and got my 1k to fix the car. Spent it on bills, but I can fix the fender on like 200 bucks easy

[knocks on wood], for the 6 months I have owned my Maxima, I have not been hit once. I would be so ****ed if I found my Maxima dented up because some moron was too careless to move back foreward and make sure they have enough room to clear my car.

Good luck getting it fixed, dont claim it on insurance.

call the cops and tell em the expedition was behind your car... they will come out, measure out the height of the damage and such and make the conclusion.

Put the squeeze on. Go up to the lady and give her a chance to confess....say something like ..
"I just thought I'd give you the opportunity to tell me what happened the other day to my car before the police come and investigate. I know it was probably an accident and all, and I would hate for you to have to deal with the police. Perhaps we could work something out without having to get the police involved too deeply...feel me ?"

Well, if that doesnt work, you could always plant evidence and then call the cops. ha
Sorry to hear about ya car though, irresponsibility just bites !
