Window Vent Visors Question

I tried doing a search on any info about them, but I didn't find much.
I was looking to pick up a set from CustomMaxima.com, but are they really more for show then purpose? Also, to those who do have them, and decided to or needed to take them off, are they a PITA to take off, or once they're on, they're on for good? Do they leave any kind of marks, scuffs, or stains behind? I'm trying to relate to whether it would be similar to the sunroof wind deflector which had those problems.

If you get the kind that slide into the window channel, then they won't leave damage when you take them off. If you get the kind that stick on to the car's door, then they will take your paint off if you decide to remove them.

I have the MacNeil ones. Pricey, but you get what you pay for I guess.

Where can you find the MacNeil ones? And when you say they "slide" into the window channel, is the window still able to fully close?
