Jet Vforce Anyone ??

I was talking with Thurznite( member on forum ), and he told me that since us 97 and above have no ECU like JWT or GFORCE to try Jets Vforce. Its a "piggy back" rather then the traditional swap ECU. I just want to know if anyone has tried it or is using it right now, and what HP gains they got.

Description : The JET V-Force Power Control Modules (PCM) uses the same computer tuning technology found in JET's popular domestic tuning products. A 20Mhz RISC microprocessor optimizes the ignition spark advance and recalibrates the fuel map for optimum horsepower and acceleration.

Modified Ignition Curve
Recalibrated Air/Fuel Ratio for Maximum Performance
Improved 1/4 Mile E.T's
LED Read Out
On/Off Override Switch

Anyone that can give me info or help would be great.

Thanks !!!!

concensus on most car forums is that most of Jet's "import" products are caca! but to each his own. that thing looks like an 8-track player. I bet the ignition curve modifcations don't even work on DIS/multi-coil vehicles??

Order one? JWT Avalon and Cattman sell JWTs. Not sure if you can get a new G-force anymore, may have to get it used.

You, supposedly, can use a JWT 95/96 ECU in a 97 as long as the model/tranny match. No experience on this, but it's supposed to work. I've heard that on some cars, it will permanently throw a CEL, though.

Yes. The 95/96 JWT ECU should work on a 1997 provided the model/transmission match. Now, they have a core charge (pretty pricey IIRC) that you might have to eat, as I don't know if they'll take your ECU in trade. Alternatively, you can just send yours in to have it rewritten.

I don't know about the JET ones, but the JWT seem to be very trusted here. Since JWT makes an ECU mod for your car, I'd probably recommend going with that. I know www.cattman.com sells the ECU's, and even claim that it works on the '97s.

When you say "

My car is the 97 5spd GXE ? They only make it for 95 96.
Are you sayin that they have a 97 ECU?

I am SORRY I am asking so many questions, and keep getting the same answer. I am not very knowageable about the ECU mod.

S'ok. JWT makes an ECU mod designed for the '95-'96 which will also work on a '97. The only negative reports I've heard are the CEL stays lit, although nothing's actually wrong. Not all people have this "problem", though.

Do some searching on this, and I'm sure you'll find all the details of using a JWT ECU in the '97s.

Yep, you got it! Although, I don't know what kind of gains I'd expect from an ECU upgrade alone. Usually, people get the upgraded ECU to adjust the engine to NOS/FI or buffed N/A work.

The MEVI owners get it to increase the rev limiter (something that won't help the normal asthmatic Maxima )
