Autometer Tach-shiftlite

Autometer Tach-shiftlite
I recently bought the autometer shift-lite tach. Looks beautiful, but the only problems is that it doesn't match up with the max's revs. It's only off by 100-200 rpms, but by the time my car redlines, the tach is off by 500 rpms. Anyone know what the problem might be? (and I did clip the brown wire to calibrate it to my cylinder range which was specified in the installation manual)

Actually mine is off too. I used a 6200 pill and it would bounce off the rev limiter w/o even lighting up the shiftlight in 1st and 2nd gear. Ended up using a 6000 pill. You may be able to use a 6200 pill cuz my revs build up faster.
