My HD lights and radio works but my car won't crank. Also. I can hear my fuel pump come on. I have a 95SE with almost a 100k miles. Could it be my starter?
What do you guys think that its causing the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.

If it doesn't even try to turn over, then it's probably the starter. I replaced mine already.

How many miles did you have when you replaced it and how much did the starter cost you? and where?
BTW, is it easy to install? Thanks

I replaced the starter at around 85K. After discussing the different options with my technician, I decided to have a new aftermarket unit (I forgot the brand) installed. It was way cheaper than a new Nissan unit and, so far, at least as reliable as a new or rebuilt Nissan unit. He installed it for $196, I think. It looks like it would be fairly easy to install, if you are mechanically inclined. I think you just remove the throttle body, which is over the starter, and then there are 4 bolts or so and a wiring harness.

Try hitting your starter with a hammer a couple,

of times it should then work if not there is something different not working. If the car starts after you hit it with a hammer you still need to replace it otherwise you will keep having to hit your starter to get it started,it will only work a few times.

I had about 60k miles on my car when the starter went.

Had it fixed under warranty but had to pay a $50 deductible. It is a $350 job. The only thing the lousy $1k extended warranty covered. What a waste.

my max did this to me the other day after a windshield install... dunno if it was my fault messing with my stereo or the guy did something..

turned key, could hear some relays near my left leg go, no start.

turned out my ignition fuse blew out. replaced.. all better

other related... my remote didn't work = alarm fuse
also the clock and my stereo would not work = audio fuse

dunno how all of these blew out at one.
was installing new speakers in doors, did not disconnect battery.. guess I could have just removed any alarm and audio fuses before doing the work.
