Anyone know what Nissan model a PN-2280D radio is for ? A guy sold it to me as being for a 2000 Maxima but it does not fit. I have a 2000 GXE (non-Bose), and all the plugs fit in correctly, but the bezel that has the air vents in it does not fit around it. It has an Mfg date of April 1999, which would make it a 2000 model year, but for what model ? Or did we switch something part way thru the year ?

Is it a solo CD, or non bose, cd tape combo?

It is a non-Bose CD/Tape/AM/FM with Changer Control. It would probably fit and work just fine if the trim bezel was a different shape.

you don't have a pic do you? because the 4th gen and 5th gen radios look different.

No picture (my digital camera is away on vacation until sometime tonight when my son gets home). If it is for a Maxima then believe it is a 5th GEN radio, based on the mfg date.
When I bought the car it had an brand-new AM/FM/Tape with no CD but a 6-CD changer in the trunk with no way to control it.
So I replaced it with a slightly older 4th GEN AM/FM/Tape/CD unit with changer control and it fit in fine. However, it did not have a diversity antenna so I had to get an adapter. Well the CD works but the radio reception is virtually non-existent.
So I got this radio that is supposedly for a 2000, but like I said, the bezel does not fit. The guy I bouight it from wants me to send him a picture of the bezel as he can't figure it out anyway. I figured if I could match the part number I could help things along.
