....................light it up....
you can get the Hyper industries bulbs from ebay for like,$15.00 a pair and they give you a choice of stock wattage or higher, but they are more of the "rice" blue than white......and they don't last as long.........
sylvania cool blues at autozone for $14 a bulb.I've heard good about these and since you can go run right out and buy a pair near you if they blow then get some more.....

if you brightness
if you want more light then you usually have to get more wattage which runs into the risk of blowing a fuse or burning out wires but i use hyper whites on my headlights, signals, and reverse and i haven't had a problem. they are blue tinted and i do like that, better then yellow anyday. most hyper whites are twice the stock wattage so i would be careful on using them too much.

Ryan already knows this but...
For the benefit of others, I have the Cool Blues. They are cheap and they are better. But you do get what you pay for. They are only a little brighter and and little whiter than stock. My headlights are re-aimed a little higher so the pattern is a little better. They arent so high that they dazzle other drivers, just a little to help some. The high beams on the cool blues are very nice, more of a difference over OEM than the low beams. My roommate has Cool Blues in his Saturn, which uses 4 bulbs. They are MUCH brighter than his stock lights were. However, his OEM lights were barely adequate. Sorry for rambling...

Re: better get the harness
After my connector burned out using over wattage bulb.. I switched back to cool blue.. It's nothing near to hyper blue during dry day/night. but much brigher when it rain..
I like cool blue since it's little whiter than stock yet still gives me good vision than hyper white..
my recommandation would be get a cool blue if you want to keep your clear view during bad weather.. or get a harness when you want to use overwattage bulb.. or get a PIAA bulb..

by cool blue, do you mean the 45/55 (or whatever they are) bulbs at autozone or checker? And by hyperwhite, do you mean the 80/100 (or whatever) bulbs that people sell on ebay and stuff?
So, no matter what, If I use the 80/100 bulbs, I should get a harness. Otherwise, I should just get the autozone cool blues and use no harness. Right?
thanks,
nmg

My old 4th gen max had several burned light harneses. This is due in part to the 9004 bulbs small contact area on the plug. I added a replacement harness kit and kept the 80w/100w bulbs and I have yet to repair another plug or bulb. Believe me, buy the harness it will save a lot of headaches.
