The young and the HELPLESS

Lolz i just thought that was a funny *** subject line but anyhow down to my question.

I've been searching unsuccessfully for a chrome trim around the passenger door side of my 99 gle. Is this trim removable or fully attached to the door. Can i buy new or would i have to find in a junk yard?

Second question is that i'm about to undertake a paint job on my side mirror. I've found a paint store that matches the paint and will sell me the factory paint/primer/clear coat/ clear coat hardener for 100.00. Can anyone give me some advice on painting this mirror or a link where i can read up on painting it.

Thanks a million. (maxima.org members)

The chrome trim can be found at any auto parts store. As far as painting your mirror I would advise to just take it to a body shop and have them do it. It should cost you no more than the $100.00 in supplies you mentioned. They would probably do it for around $50.

You spent $100 in material to paint a mirror, I quoted you $45 bucks to have it painted professionally by our shop and I believe you said that was to expensive??

This makes absolutely no sense at all. Any body shop would have painted that for you for around 50 bucks.

lol...thats funny...paying $100 vs. $45, hey whatever floats your boat...but I'm always trying to save money, BTW Tom is a good guy to deal with, no reservations on my part whatsoever if I need him to do any work for me.

Tom heh

Tom i was about to give you a call about getting the side mirror painted plus ask you about the chrome trim on the bottom of the door. I wanted to repaint my spoiler and other spots on my car so I was thinking if i'm able to paint it i could paint other things and it could save me a ton of money. Money is tight right now just like others of course so i was just seeing if i could learn something new and paint my stuff. Anyhow i came to the conclusion that im going back to school soon and i just want it fixed. Anyhow guys lolz thanks for ridiculing me.
