who has done this?.. also do you paint the valve cover and the spark plug cover... do you sand it down first or how do you make it look smooth?

i've done this very easy. get high temperature spray paint aka "engine paint" unscrew the 4-6 screws that hold the cover in place. remove it clean it. and spray a few coats on it. that's what i did works fine.

ok... like t2000j said remove the cover and get some high temp paint. i also used a high temp clear coat as well. tape off any thing you do not want painted. use some sand paper to rough the surface so the paint will cling.

here is a little trick- to keep the raised nissan letters silver, put some grease on the top of the letters before you paint it. once you are done painting, u can use your finger to remove the "painted grease" and the letters stay silver. here is a pic... it is not very good, but is shows well enough

Ryan, you can use tape to cover the silver letters before painting it. I recommend doing a couple of coats of paint until it looks smooth.

Hey Jeff, your Maxima reminds me of my '99 because I too have a FSTB, red calipers, red s/p cover, shoulder pads, and clear corners
