LASER SHIELD (do they work???)

i was doing some research and came across these anti laser radar gun shield license plate covers
http://www.coolautoparts.com/laser.htm
Now i was wondering do these work or are they a bunch of like the radar jammers.

Wow that looks like a neat idea! It doesn't say anything about the material that they use, so I do not see a way to substantiate their claims, other than to actually buy it and conduct tests of your own. Other than that I would think that you would have to take their word for it... unless someone else here actually has had experience with it.

The other thing is that cops don't HAVE to hit your license plate, although that is the preferred target... so you are not 100% immune to laser even if you do get it.

For what it's worth - I think it was the Escort website that said those things don't work..that it can actually reflect the laser beam better than without them!!

But maybe they're tring to sell their detectors, too.

alright, first of all i don't think the popo would be aiming their laser gun at the license plate because they need to hit anything reflective... and w/ the maxima's flat back end, that would probably be their target.

The only useful license plate cover i've seen is where it only shows only half the plate in one angle, and the other half in another angle... thus avoiding a ticket from those ticket cameras.

a bit off-topic: get a val 1 and remove front plate. fine is cheaper for no plate displayed than camera ticket. front plate is city revenue collection device.
