Can someone supply me with a really good wiring diagram with the relay?
#4
i know this is not a picture diagram...but these are my notes that i have jotted down after installed 6 VI's now...i will go ahead and post all my notes for everyone to see, not only the ones pertaining to the wiring aspect. it all makes sense to me, so that means it probably wont make any sense to anyone else..ha
i am going to to put together a picture diagram for you real quick here...

Red – “85” on relay, and + cig power
Black – (-)cig power
White – “86” on relay
Green – RPM source (coilpack/ECU)
Relay
“85” – short jumper to (+)cig power & Red Harlan Wire
“86” – White Harlan
Output – Vacuum Switch (dawes/GM)
Ground – Chassis ground (shifter plate)
Dawes/GM solenoid
No air/closed(foam covered) – goes to canister
Switched (common) – Actuator
Silver outlet(GM) - to open air/vent
Wire comes from relay to get RPM signal

Coil #1
Passenger side, rear bank nearest strut tower.
3 wires, tap Multicolored (red/yellow/orange)
Green wire on HARLAN (extend)
Torque Specs
2 rear manifold bolts near firewall (support bolts) – 14-18 ft lbs
4 front manifold bolts – 13-16 ft lbs (4,1,2,3 left to right)
Throttle body bolts – 1st step = 7-10 ft lbs ; 2nd step = 13-16 ft lbs
IACV bolts – 15 ft lbs
New TB gasket
RTV red on EGR gasket
Reuse IACV gasket
Vacuum source for 95 – Throttle body “T” – one hose goes to manifold, one hose to FPR, other is capped. See if accessible, otherwise tap FPR vacuum or top nipple on manifold vacuum.
BEST vacuum source 95-99 – FPR (fuel pressure reg.)
From vacuum source to check valve to canister. From canister to dawes/GM to actuator.
Reduce hose size to top nipple on manifold, stock hose too big. Use hose clamp.
