I am coming home from a meeting today on I-66, tired and want to get home and this lowered EX comes up beside me and starts ahead and drops back and does this a couple of times and just ignore him. So, my exit is coming up and I get off as usual and it turns out that it was his exit as well. I go up a couple of lights and he is on my left, lights turns green and he is reving and spins tires like he&*. I just pull of like normal and we get to the next light and he is looking over at me with a smirk on his face, I thought to myself "this guy is gonna be really embarrassed when the light turns green". Needless to say when the light turns green I had a smile on my face, I rolled off the line upto about 2K and then nailed it, my Car is an AUTO by the way, it shifted at redline and it chirped second, by then I had about 3 cars on that ragged little coupe. I was laughing and he pulled up beside me and would not look over. I had to tell you guys that. MY car is a 95 SE with 115K on it and it runs perfect. I will say it again, CIVICs are WEAK!!!!! I am not talking about SIs' with turbos or SCs'. I hope all enjoyed this tale of a kill as much as I enjoyed telling it.
Happy Trails.

And now the mods will start suddenly appearing on your car little by little. Once you start feeling that urge for speed, there's no turning back. Nice roadkill.

i want your auto

i rather get a manuel but if i could an auto i would like yours. are the 95 se autos that strong when going into second? i have a 93 gxe auto (vg sohc 160 hp) and my frist gear is pretty strong but when it goes into second its kind of soft, theres definitly no chirp of the wheels. is just my car or does anyone else have a second gear wheel chirp?

Stop complaining...you loved it.

Why do Civics(their drivers)think they're fast (compared to Maximas)?
Probably the same reason Maximas(their drivers) think they're fast(compared to M5s).

I think the same can be said about us Maxima drivers too.

I'm surprised that that Civic wanted a piece of you. I run into many Civics and they know they'll get roadkilled by me, so they won't run against me. Unless, of course, they got some kind of help like NOS or a turbo/supercharger. Then, I'll understand why they think they can beat you, but if they just have a few mods, I don't think so!

shifting

Excuse the ignorance, but after you get up to 2K, do you go into 1st or 2nd or what? I have an auto also but have never tried this.

Posts like this makes me chuckle... hehe

Yeah, civics are "weak"... it's a 1.6 liter 4 cylnder making 127hp. what do you REALLY expect? Honestly... some what stating the obvious.

And then there's sort of this view that if you beat one civic all of them are "weak".

I suppose if i pulled up next to someone in my crx, they probably would think "lowered crx, with rims, and exhaust.... rice boy". But it's funny... cause how do you know what I REALLY have under the hood? *chuckle*

But then my cars are slow, what do I know.

The car was still in first, I let it get to 2K so it would not spin, as it would if you just floor it, Doing so allows for the wheels to be moving at a good speed. That it why it works fine for me.

Please don't misunderstand me, I AM NOT A RACER. This guy just pissed me off and I wanted to share it will all of you.

I wasn't looking for a race, I just got a little hot under the collar when he pulled his little stunt at the last light. My car is slow, but I can't let stunts like that go unpunished.

CoolMax,
I have a buddy with a new M3, I have driven that car, it will smoke my my max. I don't go around messing with cars of that caliber, that's why I think that Civic's should know better, for the most part. We did have a little fun one night though and kicked them around 65mph, needless to say I saw the back of his M3 real fast.

Well....I can see where he's comming from. If you're just minding your own business and some dork is trying to bait you, you may feel the need to school him. Its the ex drivers fault for not knowing about other cars. You are right...any way you look at it a 127hp civic is so....but so is my car. But I'm not gonnna tail some gs-r and try to **** him/her off.

And don't take this as a flame....but every time somebody post someting negative about civic you don't have to take it personnaly......just like Eric L lives for toyota comments.....it really makes me chuckle

I'm not saying you mess around with cars of a higher caliber...I'm saying when a Maxima lines up against an M5 expecting to smoked, how is that different than a Civic lining up against a Maxima?

Yes I do, and it's not cause I am a honda fan... it's cause I think there's a double standard on this forum. Many owners of maxima think they are that much better than a Civic driver... yet they behave in the exact same way. I can make more statements about hondas/acuras because I know abuot this... I don't think much about Toyotas so I don't jump in on those conversation. It just so happens that there are more generalization about Civic because there aer more of them out there.

I guess people tend think that I defend hondas because I am fan... but if you look back, most of the time, topics like this are about civics. Plus when someone says they can out run a GT in they auto maxima or a Firebird V8, I just in and flame away.... I think you just "remember" my civic posts cause you know I am a honda fan.

No offense taken though.

I could be wrong, but a relatively stock auto Maxima shouldn't be chirping into 2nd gear unless you were on a slippery surface. Anyone disagree?

.

I'm with medicsonic, I've never heard of chriping into 2nd... maybe he has bald tires or something. That's cool if it did though.

I see cars with mods all the time, but I would have to say civic owners are the cockiest. I think this is why too....... If you put 5-10grand into your car (what a lot of civic owners do) wouldn't you think it would be badass. The only problem is they bought some used 7grand civic with an econmoical gas sipper of an engine.

I frequent the honda/acura boards often, and honestly it is kinda funny sometimes. The best post I saw there was a kid was mad because he had thrown something like 6,000 into his civic in various mods and got smoked on the interstate by a minivan. He said he wished he'd never bought it. People in reply wrote 'some of those minivan's are pretty fast man they have power don't worry about it'. I'm sorry but a minivan.

It's just I think if you a buy a car at a certin price, you have to generally put as much money into it to beat another car higher up in class. For instance bmw = 50,000, maxima 30,000. If you put 20,000 you'll beat him, but if you put 5 or even 10, you'll probably still lose. Just my opinion.

If you don't like acura/honda, drive an integra gs-r. In the civic's defense, if you race them on a road with a lot of turns like a subdivision, he woulda had a hard time seeing your distant headlights in his rear view mirror.

Here's a 96civic ex, and a 91 integra gs ( i almost bought the gs for 5grand). I think these are two perfect examples of modded honda's that give them a good name, not exhausts u can stick ur head in and wings made for take off.

Not trying to get flamed, but my car does it from time to time. I have a buddy who's fiance has an Acura Legend that does it as well... Don't ask me I am no expert on transmissions and shifting.....
