another successful clutch install
Well thanks to Brian ( briguymax ) and greg ( dustyroads ) again for helping me install my clutch. They helped me install a stock clutch on my last maxima, and now yesterday installed an ACT in my 99 SE. Install went pretty smooth, ran into problems with the bolts on the cat conv but other then that nothing. I was able to drop the trans by myself with no problems, and reinstalling it took no time at all.
This time we did not remove the right cv axle, and it did not cause a problem at all, saved alot of time. Also this time having air tools helped
Thanks again guys, and yes I know I owe both of you again

I have never understood why have a performance clutch if you have to granny shift it? Why not just use a stock clutch and shift how you want?
(Besides running a lot of HP and TQ the stock clutch can't hold)

Once I installed the SC (with the stock pully) the clutch would slip AFTER it was already fully engaged. Just couldn't hold the extra power.

But there is no NA car on this board over 200fwhp, and no need for a clutch that clamps %36 harder.
no NA over 200 fwhp? doesnt intake and full exhaust give u over 200 fwhp? or am i reading wrong?

Nevertheless, the feel of the ACT is so much better than stock (if you don't mind an increased propensity for chatter), regardless of how much power you have. And let me repeat what ejj said, clutches don't damage transmissions, people do. (Reminds me of the old saying, guns don't kill people, bullets do - yuk yuk yuk.) If you treat your drivetrain with respect, there's no reason it won't hold up.
