Need help finding a RaDaR Detector please!!!

Hey Org Members.

Iv been having *ish luck lately and keep gettin screwed with tickets. Yah i kno sum of you will tell me to stop driving like an ace and to stop speeding but prob not gonna happen. I def cruise around alot but there are times when i step on it you know. I love my MaX and love driving fast.

Any ways, i need sumthing that will keep me out of trouble. Iv heard of Valentine One, i think it is, but thats really really expensive. Are there others that are of similar quality OR anything cheaper that will save me from losing my license?

Thanks for the help

I heard that the Escort 8500 series or something like that is pretty decent. Good luck with it all. I'd still dish out the money for the Valentine One, or just pay more attention to the road.

Having owned both the escort 8500 and valentine one, i'd say spend the extra 100-150 for the V1, i'd say detection is on par with eachother, both served me well, but there is no substitute for the arrows on the valentine one.

Valentine 1 is the only one that will actually give you money for the ticket if you get one...

That and the damn thing works really well!

I have a V1 and a Bel 980 and the V1 is by far the best. It will save you but don't count on it as instant on is common and will get you every time. My advice is SLOW DOWN. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. If you slow down I can guarantee no speeding tickets.

i have cobra escort 9115, it detects everythin but i don't drive fast so it's nice to have it around to keep my heads up. it did save my **** couple times, therefore it served its function. worth of $$.

Find a friend who works at Best Buy and you can get the Escort 8500 for about 200 brand new. I'd say it's probably been one of my better investments.

first off, i would definitely recommend the v1...had it for a while and it was outstanding. there is no detector like it that i know of that tells you what direction a threat is coming from. next, just like kl99sea said, and not meaning to sound critical, if you feel you have an unnecessary need for speed, i suggest you go to driving school again. i don't mean to sound critical or anything but people that pile up speeding tickets have themselves to blame. keep your foot off the gas, be consistent with your driving and you'll be fine. no use hauling a$$ within town...you'll just put people and yourself in danger unnecessarily and rack up tickets while at it, detector or no detector...save it for road trips and the interstate. thats why i travel so much. g/l

Thanx gimpatron. I didnt kno they sold the Escort 8500 at BestBuy. i have a few friends that work there and i have a BestBuy credit card so i could jus use that.

Is the whole directional arrow from V1 really make a huge difference? im sure its co0 as all hell but does it matta? regardless of what direction ur going or where the threat is comin from, if ur doin sumthing illegal ur doin sumthing illegal.

by the way Lophix im not a psycho driver. i do like to drive fast but i also have extremely bad luck. i have 4 speeding tickets. 2 in town: Beverly, 38 in a 35. Killington 39 in a 30. thats nuttin bad luck cuz those arent a big deal at all. other 2 on interstate: 97 & 107 in a 65. In my defense the avg speed for even a minivan with kids inside was 90 so me gettin tickted was bull *ish. Also, i only got pulled over once by two troopers and both the Pigs decided to give me a ticket each. ghey!!

yes the directional arrows are extremely useful.....case in question...i had a trooper come from behind and i got the warning waaay before i saw him....i slowed and he got someone ahead of me.

concerning your tickets....105 in a 65 is ridiculously pushing your luck and any cop will tell you that pointing to someone else as a reference is a very lame excuse....just cos they are doing it doesnt mean you should. they can't catch everyone but all they need is a scape goat. btw when you get your v1, try to always have a wabbit ahead of you as bait. goodluck.

There is no substitute for a Valentine One radar detector... I've had mine for almost 4 years now and I've had ZERO speeding tickets with it so far, and I haul *** everywhere... I'll give you an example...
105mph all the way from New Orleans to Dallas and back, 7 hrs one way. About 3 cops on the way there and about 3 on the way back... Knew about all of them in advance.. slowed down, then sped back up a mile past them. Did the same thing from New Orleans to Phoenix, AZ and back, and thats 24 hrs one way... :P Just drop the cash and get a real radar detector, besides you end up spending thousands more in insurance everytime you get a ticket in the first place...

Oh... and lest I forget... the trip on the way back from Bowling Green, KY after I picked up my freshly turbocharged Maxima... you don't want to know how fast I was going...

Valentine One does not pay for your tickets, thats Rocky Mountain detectors, like the phazer and phantom or whatever those worthless pieces of **** are called, they claim to have radar scramblers and stuff, its all a load... they're black boxes with a light inside and nothing more... Open one up and take a look for yourself, what a hoax...

NP man, and keep in mind, V1 is the only company that puts out updates for their detector, you NEVER have to buy a new one, just update the one you have... Pretty cool process. Let me know if you have any other ?'s

Get the V1 and you wont be sorry.

Once you learn how to use it and its features, especially the arrows, you'll NEVER want anything else again.

It's a one time purchase, so I don't mind spending the extra $100 or whatever to have the BEST.

I have a V1 . . .and must say that it works extremely well! As far as radartest.com, thats BS - the creator of that site has drama with Mike Valentine, therefore giving him bad reviews for the sake of ruining his business. . . but ask anyone - the Valentine is anything but crap.

Who would you believe more, us or biased magazines/websites?

Personally, I'd take ACTUAL testimonys over any so called "tests".

I'd toss the V1 out the window in a heartbeat if it F'd up only once and got me busted. Sometimes the V1 warns me so far in advance, I get pi$$ed for slowing down so soon.

Honestly, it takes getting used to once you have a detector this sensitive. If the Escort, Bell, or whatever warns me further in advance, I could care less because I don't need THAT much of a warning.
