do you care about options, or do you care about 5 speed?

I upgraded my 97 SE Auto to a 95 GXE Auto. Well actually the wife has the 97 but the 95 is lighter and faster.

Don't listen to the auto naysayers, I still think they can outrun a 5 speed once they are into the 13's and faster.

If you are not running any form of boost then yes the 5 speed is quicker but I love the look on peoples faces at the track when they look inside the car and say "Its an automatic" after a 12 sec pass.

Worth it in what way? If upgrades make you happy, do them. What do you mean long-run, do you mean years? 5+ years it's worth it imho to buy brand-new, and buy German. 7+ years and it's worth it to buy a new Nissan product. Anything shorter I'd go used since you'll lose less $ if you are careful and drive a hard bargain.
