Dinged Y pipe... effect on performance?
I'm getting a y-pipe with a ding in it. Not sure how bad it is but the previous owner says he did not see any change in performane since he bottomed it out. How sensative is the exhaust to things like this? Say it's pushed in less than a 1/3rd of an inch in one spot, would that cause any powerloss?
thanks

....\..\<----------- not sure if that may help explain it.
i'd say that judging from the thickness of the steel, it's around 1/4 of an inch dented inward..
The previous owner said he felt no difference at all when he got the ding or after it.. he didn't even know he got the ding until he pulled the pipe off.
I'm just wondering if it's worth getting it fixed before putting it on the car. I'd like to have it at it's full capabilities.
