This is still happening to me, since the install last summer.

Cattman SS Y-pipe -- really no major noise when in drive or park, even under heavy acceleration.

HOWEVER, in reverse, there is DEFINITELY added noise -- almost like a leak and rattle sound both. All nuts are tight. Seems to fit fine, no gaps at all.

If it's a leak, why only in reverse?

If it's a rattle, why only in reverse?

I don't get it.

Help!

Wrap the y-pipe? or the headers? What parts? What to use? Someone told me not to wrap the SS y-pipe, I forgot who.

You may want to look under the car and check for clearance problems. I never had an issue with noises with my stillen pipe. But then again, some people say they don't have a problem with their cattman pipes.

Check to make sure the y-pipe is still intact. Then make sure your cat is still good. Hope no blocks blew away. Last thing which many guys do is use wrap on the flex section. This eliminates the hissing noise.

The pipe is fine, it's been doing this since the day I put it in. It's more of a vibration/rattle and some leaking gas sound when in reverse.
