Turbo Kit on Ebay

Found this as I was Browsing:

Turbo

Does it belong to anyone on the board? Seems somewhat high for a used kit, but I'm also not an expert by any means.

Why does the blow through MAF have to go?

It's a 4th gen, MAF's aren't nearly as delicate as on 5th gens.

Plus boost/off boost transition should be smoother with a blow through MAF since it's between the throttle body and BOV. It minimizes the stumbling that can occur when the MAF is mounted upstream of the BOV. Blow through is the same way it's done on a Stillen SC. Anyone ever blown a MAF on a 4th gen with one of those?

Has a 4th gen turbo or SC setup had problems with a blow through MAF? Not that I know of. On a 5th gen it's a whole different story, but the turbo kit on eBay is a 4th gen.

And the kit is ugly because he didn't finish the pipes (or color coordinate anything). But functionally, it looks pretty decent.

'Cause they realized that the 5th gen MAF couldn't handle being boosted.

I know they changed it for the 5th gen kits because the 5th gen maf is much more fragile and can't handle the boost. But the 4th gen V1 and V2 kits have a blow through maf, right?

Both 4th gen kits have the MAF on the charged side. V1 and V2.

The V2 did, I had a V2 SC. It looked pretty much the same as a V1 piping wise, just the pulleys were slightly different and some other little things.

The best setup would be a draw-through MAF with a recirc valve instead of an open BOV. I hate that damn noise from the BOV anyway. I still dont understand why people try to make it as loud as possible.

Why would you say that's "best". Yes, its best if the MAF can't handle being pressurized, but if they can, I see no reason that you wouldn't put the MAF on the pressure size.

You could still use a recirc valve with this setup.

Haha, I saw that too. It looks like at first they used the factory accordian section and then replaced it with a real pipe.
