~~Those who SHAVED the trunk of their Max....Answer this--->

how much did u pay? I went to bodyshop & asked them to filled in keyhole & the 2 holes behind the nissan emblem & they said it will be $300 to fill it & paint it? said especially since my paint is a 3-stage process & takes more time to blend the paint....does this seem like good price?

thanks

I actually haven't had it done, but my friend and fellow car mod freak is a superior body and paint guy. I'd only have to pay for the paint cost, unless he actually has the paint and has already recently used it, then it wouldn't cost me anything. Either way, $50 +/- $10 is what I would have to pay. I would say for anyone else, it should only be $150 or so maximum...

for a good job I dont think thats too much, Im sure you could find it cheaper but I would make sure they welded the hole close and didnt just use plastic.

It sounds reasonable if they are going to repaint the whole trunk. If its just painting over the wholes after filling them up, i wouldn't pay more then 200. From my view its just not worth it.

3 stage process...wonder what they mean by that. Aren't all car paints (from all the manufacturers) 3 stages?

thats not worth $20 you can just paint thw holes to do a good job they would do the entire trunk lid so they could blend the paint and make sure it matches

and by 3 stage its probably base (color) pearl and then clear.

i would think thats about right, they would most likely have to paint the whole trunk to make it match since white pearl is difficult to blend and match. i just had my front my bumper, hood and fenders blended on mine using the 3 stage process

Less than $150...and it can be airbrushed so that it blends with the rest of the deck lid. If you paint the whole deck lid then you have to blend the 2 qrt panels.

$300 isn't unreasonable. It's not a deal or anything, but if it's a reputable shop that guarantees the work they do that's not a bad price. And yea, 3 stage (base, pearl, clear) do require a lil bit more.
