*edit* Oh yeah, Jon. I'd like to line my car up with yours. That is if you think you can beat me. I will be NA still, but don't let that fool you.

So that is your response to what happened to the race against me and Andy? Oh well, facts are facts.

And you can't tell me to jerkit and then back down from a race. Reguardless of your time, I have to let you know what my VE Auto power is all about. 14.9 doesn't scare me. Since your a modded 5spd, you should be able to spank me.

Oh well, that sucks. I want someone to grudge race me next time I go to Fontana. And you sound like a very good race for me. Kloogy sounds slighty too fast for me. But I will race him anyway. Also, Alfphonso, you are going down... haha.. jk man.

Im 18 guys and i drive my 89 max and i have nothing done to the outside of my car other than my .org and greddy sticker. I do have a greddy cat bak which i love cause its not a riceer muffler. Its mild and tame at cruzing speeds then wild and agressive at wot. As for some maximas being rice i can agree cause i seen some 4th gens riced out to the fulliest but riceing out a car makes it "special". The high school i went to there were some kidds with 3rd gens maximas but none of them gave a **** about there car and only talked about getting acura intergas and riceing them out. As for gun metal rims i think there ok cause i have a charcoal grey max so it goes pretty good with it Im my opinion I dont think a maxima could ever be consider a "ricer car" cause its not a 4 banger

and I guess the S2000, Evo 8 and all those other relatively fast cars are ricey too cause they're "4 bangers" right?? not to mention all the 11 and 12 second Hondas out there great logic...

For some odd reason, I thought he was going to paint the bodykit immediately. It's been at least 3 months and still no paint...what's the point? Still saving up cash?

He also has a TurboFour sticker, fart-can, salad-bar spoiler, and white wheels.

There's just no pleasing you guys is there? Two or three years ago, everyone complained about not being able to get enough mods, most of you may not remember this, but lots of people here actually signed petitions to get the big companies to make Altezzas for Maximas. There was only 1-2 body kits and so on. Now that parts are getting made, all you guys can do is complain that it makes the car look like rice.

You guys talk about people getting taillights instead of real mods like intakes/y-pipes and such. What you don't know is that people like you get made fun of by people with fast cars all the time. To them, you are rice, but in your mind, you're hot stuff (exactly the same thing going through someone with a big wing or altezzas). At my friend's shop, all they do is turbos and performance parts. 4-1000 hp imports; and they laugh all day at people with intakes/exhausts and little stuff like that. Adding 10 hp to a car isn't much better than adding taillights to it. To you, that 10 hp provides a lot of enjoyment. To someone else, those taillights provide the same level of enjoyment. And to other people, both of you could be considered ricers. It's all relative.

What you have to realize is that you take the good with the bad. Apparently there are enough people out there buying this stuff to keep these companies in business. Just pick what you like, and let others pick what they like. You can't just say "well a Maxima is different" so you can't make Altezzas, big wings and ugly body kits for it. Facts are facts, 4th gens are really cheap now. Just about any teenager can get his or her hands on one for roughly the same price as a Civic. And tons of them are being handed down from soccer mom duty to their 16-17 year old kids who are going to rice them out. The Maxima isn't so special that you can't rice it out, just another 4 dr. sedan.

Do I like Altezzas or huge graphics? Nope, but I'm not going to trash talk cars that do. I'll talk smack on cars with bad workmanship, but I tend not to talk about people's tastes because it's all different. As long as enough people keep modding the Maxima to generate the aftermarket support we need, I'm happy.

Wait a few more months when the redesign of my car is done, most of you will probably call it rice, even with the turbo and 2 nitrous bottles going in. But does that matter? Not even a little bit.

mercifully, down here in Orlando/Winter Park I haven't seen any riced maximas.each modded one I've seen has been tastefully done. Personally, all I'd do to my current ride is rims, y pipe and intake. If I had a 4th gen, all I'd do is possibly add a small lip/side skirt kit from Stillen and add y pipe and CAI. minimal mods. I totally love the sleeper style stuff.

I think I'm gona put the big dragon stickers down the side of my Max

There are tons of ricers around here I mean tons. They are truely rice though. Body kits, stickers, altezzas, big *** mufflers, and buffet size aluminum wings. It's great to see. I love all the dragon vinyl stickers too.

There is an '89 Pontiac Grand Am (I think), that is red with silver dragon stickers on his doors, with chrome hubcaps, an aluminum wing, and a big *** fart muffler. It's the funniest thing I have ever seen. Sad part is he thinks he's fast as hell.

There are 2 4th Gens around here with Sarona body kits and altezzas. Altezzas aren't my thing, but I actually find it nice to see some modded Maximas around here. They are few and far between.

There is a nice 4th Gen in Knoxville, with a Stillen kit I believe and clear tails and such, only thing I don't like is he has a Nismo windshield banner. To each his own.

I totally agree with Shadow 110%. I have tried from the beginning to avoid "rice" mods because of the flak I would get from people. Now, the fact of the matter is I have spent my hard earned money on stuff I like, and have had other items mass produced. Yes, I am a ricer now because I have Z3 fenders but, anyone who wanted them and has them now has me to thank. I also proudly own Altezza's (painted) because that, like everything else on my car, sets it apart from the crowd, which has always been my goal from day one. To stand apart from the crowd. I don't like speeding, don't race, I just enjoy having something unique that I can call my own.
Another example, I have had many people call me rice because of my chain license plate frame.. That's rice...because..? I have it because among all my friends I am known for wearing nothing but silver and have a penchant for my silver chains.. It makes sense to me because its a reflection of who I am, just like my car.
Calling people ricers is about as closed minded as walking around laughing at people because of what they wear. Who cares if its not your taste, cuz that's all it is, a matter of taste.
Whether or nor you may like it, people spend their own money however they like because they can, its their money..

P.S. I have 2 dragons on my windshield as well..

Exactly! Yeah if someone has a wing that does not follow the body lines of the car and it looks like it was installed by the Stevie Wonder School for the blind then yes they deserve a little .

props to happyricefob.

<although most u org people probably think i'm a ricer (especially the altezza), please just give me some few moments to defend myself.

no, i do not like altezza, and definetly the red/clears on 95-96 look a lot hotter. but why did i end up with altezza? cuz red/clears are hard to find! i got a great deal off ebay for those pair of altezza ($41, who can beat that price?) therefore i have it. i put it on cuz i hate the stock amber tails, IMO i think it's ugly. if anybody will mass produce the 95-96 tails and already have the product proven, i will be the first one that jumps on it.

and no altezza was not my first few mods. i had a K&N popcharger, then CAI, immediately followed by budget y-pipe. FSTB was also before altezza. yes my car may appearent to be more "ricy" than most you org members, but personally like the way it is, and definetly it my mods define my personality.

and no i do not have loud muffler with my b-pipe hangin. my magnaflow is only street series (2.25" inlet), and it is secured with nissan OEM gasket. like i said many times, it sounds nearly like stock. >

There you go man. I have amber tails and its a ***** to find red/clears for gen 4. If i had a 4.5 i would def make my own red/clears to save money. My theory is that you need a nice blend of good clean asthetics and performance. Rice is people who spend money on tezza's, underglow, and coffe cans when they have sh!ty paint and bald tires.

Maxima's aren't real popular around here, so I just enjoy seeing somebody driving one. If it's "riced out", it doesn't bother me at all. To each his own. I'm sure not everyone agrees with my style, but it doesn't bother me a bit. Who wants a car that looks like everybody elses?

Clean!!!! Yea, just like that. That is a clean ride, but everyone on here might not like it. I have to agree with some of the other post, to each his own. I'm sure someone on here thinks this ride is to "Gansta".

You know, believe it or not, but there was a time in America's past were judgement was passed on individuals because they didn't look the way some people thought they should. hmmmm..........think about

They are aluminum and plated so they won't rust or corrode. But I would wipe off road salt regularly if you're tracking it in. That stuff combined with moisture may cause the mats to have water spots. It polishes out, but it would be annoying.

Here at Maxima.org, we don't believe the Nissan Maxima is just another Japanese 4-dr family car. We believe that we are held to higher standards than those chumps known as Honda and Toyota; standards high enough to play on the same level or even above BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc...and since these lowly, classy cars are rarely riced-out, why should the Maxima? Remember, the Maxima is God's chariot.

Like you said, it's all relative.

He's simply stating the prejudice of modifying certain makes of cars. Such as loud exhaust on Camaros and Mustangs is completely exceptable, but on an import it's ricey.

How did this guy's thread turn into a big debate. Anyway, I think carbon fiber hoods are very ricey unless your car is black or a very dark color that you wouldn't really notice that the hood was different. But who really cares about ricey. I don't see why so many non-rice people care so much about people who like rice cars. The only thing I hate is when I see someone who's modded there car and is too dumb to understand that he's modded his car, if you get what I'm saying.

To much negativity in this whole post something i dont think people need right now. Rice is a term that individuals define, and place upon objects. If there was a set definition of rice, this forum wouldnt exist. you can spend your money however you want, and on whatever you want, including huge exhuast tips, big wings, altezzas and such. What is the point of this forum... since everyone disagrees on what's rice, is just a big argument
