Well...First of all if thats what really happened sorry man. The odds of some1 doing that for no apperant reason though are slim to non IMO. Possible some1 that doesnt like you but...at your age what kind of enemy's are you capable of having. Besides its not to smart to do that due to the fact that insurance is gonna cover it so there is no point really other then to slightly irritate the owner. Ive had this happen to a friend be4...next moring they found his car burned to a crisp in a lake...he got full $ back from the insurance company.... I think ill stop there, it gets a little mean after this

not meaning to sound like an a$$ or anything but apart from the plates lying "inside" the vehicle, is there any further confirmation that it's yours? ie looked for the vin, etc I ask because i read through all the posts and couldnt find any further confirmation except the fact that the insurance co. has agrred to buy you another, meaning they "know" it's yours. either way, really sorry about your loss. take care man.

HOLY F@CK JIM!!! Sorry to hear that man! Was it "borrowed" from your home??? I thought that one was parked in the basement or something.

I Really hope that the investigators can find something to nail the b@stards who did that!

Any reason you didn't post this on TMEC??

We moved a couple of months ago to Barrie so it was parked outside. So far nothing from the Police except they found it.

My main convern right now is what the insurance is going to give me, just hope we aren't too far apart.

I have now brought the 95 back to stock and waiting for my next project, whatever that will be for next year, probably another one.

PS Got back from St Thomas late today, darn kid of mine won 1st Place in Power Class again, thats 2 in a row now, he is getting the hang of bracket racing. That was the last race of the year so its time to save some money for next year.

Don't take their first offer. Go print out some similiar car prices with almost the same miles and tell them you can't replace the car with that lowball offer. Good luck

Ok here is the deal, was contacted by the Insurance Company .

First offer was $8585. After about 2 minutes of explaining that there was no way I could replace that car for that amount of money, she immediately bumped it up to $9665.

Of course my story remained the same but she said she couldn't offer me any more unless I could justify why the car was worth more money. So I used THEIR black book price from THEIR website and also included the 97 SE's from the autotrader in our area (there are 3) all of which are priced higher than her quote.

Sent the FAX to them and now waiting for a reply. Not in any hurry to settle, I think they have some latitude in this deal and I am willing to wait it out to see.

Good stuff Jim... I have no doubt that you will get exactly what you want if you hold out and don't rush things.

Isn't it amazing how they bumped it up another grand?

Print them out from local Nissan dealers. I don't know about your dealers, but the dealers around here have BS pricing.

Ok, just got off the phone with the insurance company. After reviewing again and again and after waiting so long (03 Oct) to make a decision they decided to give me what I asked for.

They just cut a check for $11k, should have it by tues.

Next move, I am in the market for a 2k2 for this racing season.

See y'all at the track.

Nice. 11,000 would be a very nice down payment on a 2k2 6 speed. Congrats man.

cool.. you got what you wanted so you kinda 0wn3d them... but they kinda 0wn3d you with the waiting time.

Were you going for a 2k2 just to have a second car? Why not just use some of the cash for a hefty down payment, and use a lil bit of it for some more mods?

Either way, can't wait to see what you have in store for us

The 2k2 will be my track car, the 95 will become the grocery getter. The only mods I plan on buying other that what I already have are an intake, Y,B-Pipe and some Tokico Illuminas.

My other option was to buy an very high mileage 95 cheap, and drop a new engine and trans into it. Howver I really want to play with the 3.5 just for something different.

All the rest of my stuff of the 95 should be fine for the 2k2. Nitrous, seats, etc.

PS It will be an auto. It will also be hard to keep the wife from wanting it for herself but the discussion is over.

Congrats on the nice cheque Jim! Can't wait to see what you're gonna do with the 2k2... you really should get a 6-spd if you are going to make it a track car, otherwise you are wasting so many precious tenths of seconds there, that you work so hard to drop in the first place! Seriously dude... go manual if it is a track car!

Secondly, if you want to play with a 3.5, why not get a 95 like you want and try to fit a 3.5 in there? I think people have put the 6-spd tranny in a 3.0 so all you have to do is find a way to get the motor in there too. That would be much cheaper off the bat and then you have the extra money to swap and mod with.

Anish I want to go faster so I want the auto, 6 speed will just slow me down. I really don't think my 95 would have been able to run 12.1 if it was a 5 speed.

Don't have a good spot to do motor swaps etc or I would consider trying the 3.5 in a 4th Gen, most of my work is done outside. Like I keep saying I really am a Budget racer.

Hate this damn snow, going to Cuba on Sunday for a week.

So they stole the 97 right? Not the 12sec maxima.

And now days you can get a 2k2 for about $17K if not less. Good luck.
