I like the front lip but the whole front end is thrown off by that plate holder. Oh well still cool to see.

It appears to be a standard Maxima ST-R sold in Australia/New Zealand, 167kw, comes with factory 17's, bodykit, and interior upgrades IIRC, Not very quick unfortunately, due to maxima's not having the VQ35 or manual tranny option down here.

main competition comes from:

Mitsi Magna VRX - fwd/4wd, sohc 3.5L v6 N/A 163kw, 5spd auto. faster/bigger/nicer drive apparently

Ford Falcon XR6 - rwd, dohc 4litre inline 6 N/A, 180kw, 5spd auto, also bigger/newer/nicer drive

holden commodore - rwd, GM 3.8 V6 from the US? 15x?kw bigger, slow, not as good.

just thought you might be interested :]

fortunately for New Zealanders it is extremely easy to get your hands on an R34 GT-T skyline :], or any of the skyline family for that matter.

Doesn't the Commodore also have the 360HP LS6 as an option?

theres a v8 option yes with 260 odd kw, its LS1 genIII i believe.
not extremely fast however, weight counts against it.

faster would be the HSV commodores with 300kw versions of the same engine.

ford also has v8 options for the falcon. 235kw twin cam, three valve 5litre or 260&290kw 5.6 v8 four valve.

The best of the lot however is the Falcon XR6 Turbo, 4 litre twin cam turbo running low ~6psi boost, putting out 240kw in stock form. Lighter and more balanced than the v8's it recently was awarded local performance car of the year. Very nice cars.
Heres a pic so you get the idea

kw or kilowatts is the metric measure for horsepower.

to get hp from kw multiply by 1.341

to get kw from hp multiply by 0.7455

that would make the standard XR6 turbo 322hp.
I have a friend in melbourne in a ford club and a guy there wound the boost up to 15psi and added a 50 shot of NOS to it, and it dyno'ed at just over 350kw (470hp)

Yes that is correct, but i have only had the car for less than a few weeks now, but there seems to be a lack of places in melbourne that will modify maximas. so i guess most parts will have to come in from the states ... anyway thanks heaps for the comments guys
take it easy....

Wow it is amazing how ford makes such better, more appealing cars for overseas than they do for North America. I wish they would bring this car and the mondeo to north america.
