Raced that Cobra again.....
A few weeks ago I posted a race between me and the 96-97 Cobra that couldn't pull on me from 40-95mph. Well today we ran into each other at a park and made two runs. BTW, his mods are a shifter and K&N filtercharger. Nothing dramatic. We lined up a did a stoplight race. We both got off the line pretty good with marginal wheelspin. By the time I grabbed 2nd, he started pulling on me. By the time we hit 70mph, he was about 2 cars ahead. He slowed down, and I yelled "from 40". He slowed down to 40mph or so and he got a slight jump, putting him 1/2 a car ahead. Shortly after, I banged 3rd and then he hit 3rd with a chirp. He couldn't pull on me till we shut down a 90mph. When we went back to the spot where everyone was and he kept saying "damn, those cars have awesome pull up top". I agreed, but admitted that he'd get me after 95mph.

He said he was powershifting at a indicated 6800 rpms. I think his problems are the gears. He seems to be a decent driver, but his experience with cars is very limited (he's only 17). I told him he needs to ditch those crap 3.27s and go with some 4.11-4.33 gears. He had no idea what I was talking about and he said didn't want mods that didn't add any power. I said that the torque multiplication is increased dramatically, but I think I lost him at that point

Yeah, he's got Altezza style lights on it too
BTW, did you see that the new 2001 Lightning has Altezza lights as stock? My God, what was Ford thinking? However, I'm really in love with the "Bullit"

Bullit is ...
sharp. Very retro. About time. Mustangs in general follow a hertage line, but the bullit makes it really old school eith new school tech.
