Koni, sprints, and UDP installed this weekend,

first impressions of the UDP: Wow! the car revs ALOT faster!
this kicks ***. most noticable is the revving from 3-5k, which is my powerband due to the ecu.
Wunnnnderful
the konis went in, along with the new sprint springs.
impressions:
WOW!!!!!!!!!
my koni rears are set on stiffest setting, (full turns clockwise, and half turn back) and the fronts are full stiff, minus half turn....
its nuts! i was carving at 40 mph and the car felt SOLID. toobad my AVS intermediates were so low on tread, else i would be doing 90 + angle turns at like 60 mph.
other facts/notices.
many people have complained that the sprints in the rears are "too high" .. reason being:
the fender of the back of the car is about 1 inch lower than the front of the car, it give the illusion of "sagging" when say, you have eibachs on. well, the sprints springs keep the car slightly "level" so when you look at the fronts (3 finger gap) and the rear (also three finger gap) it looks a bit high.
in comparison, eibachs fronts are nearly 4.5 fingers, rears are 4 fingers...
i'm really happy with the performance attributes of the konis/sprints, picts will be posted in 20 minutes...

ps. Thanks to VBXMax, Irvine78, and Skimax for the install .

Spring question...
Cheston,
I'm having a hard time understanding you when you say it handles better than the eibachs. I've been told by many that progressive springs are the only way to go. Sprint are not progressive, correct? But, they handle better?
Maybe I don't want the eibachs...

Cheston-
Be careful about dialing the Koni's too stiff. I'm sure you know this, but going too stiff will cause the front end to skip and slide thru the turns instead of biting. I noticed this and a few other Koni riderss noticed this. Plus I think the Koni's on their firmest setting will out dampen the springs therefore causing that cut-spring Honda bounce. For the street, 2.25 turns should be the maximum. On a road course, who knows? It depends on the track. I'm currently running 1 turn because it's so cold and the roads resemble the face of the moon right now. One pothole was so bad in Kansas City that it set off a car's airbags, blew out the front and rear glass, knocked the radio out, and tore out the suspension cross member. The car was an Accord. The pothole was 5 1/2" deep and appeared over night, probably after semi broke it up.

Naah,
as far as I know all the height of the car is done in the springs. Sprints with stock everything should look as low, BUT it'll blow your stock struts pretty quick ... (month? week? I dunno .. front ones a week, rear ones longer I'd guess).
#13
if i got sprint springs now, do you think it will last a year on stock struts? i want to drop it now but dont have enough money for the struts yet, and i also want an exhaust system. i need to prioritize... the areas i drive in have fairly good road conditions but will go to downtown on the weekends with sh1tty roads. stock struts should last at least a year, shouldnt it?

i put the konis on super stiff just so i can see what it's like. heh. prolly gonna dial them down to soft in the fronts, the rears are stuck there.
it handles pretty much like Skimax's coilovers , which i deem this suspension set up totally worth it...
i will have to let the car settle a bit, and will post "post-settling" drop images prolly in a month.
Max8myCash: yeah. thanks a bunch. these kick ***! tho i won't be as low as nabil's prototyped sprints, these carve just as good.
the springs out of the box are the same size as the eibachs i pulled out (the front sprints even have one more coil than eibachs) but when you put it in the car and release the jack, the car sits about 0.5 inches lower than the eibachs..
mwuahahahah.
as for speed bumps, eh. i do the usual 45 degree slant n e whoo.
the ucla parking structures here suck big time.,, now i gotta watch out for my front lip.
(which i had to remove, btw, in order to put the jack in the front .. eheh)

Re: I doubt Cheston's car has settled yet...
if you haven't seen the images of this weekend's fun,
it's at
http://www.seas.ucla.edu/~cheston/udpshox/udpshox.html
as you can see, the fronts are ever so slightly lower than eibachs (~ 1 more finger before the settling)
