removing emblems

On a warm day or with a hairdryer (be VERY careful not to apply too much heat to paint) take dental floss and carefully slide it down between the emblem and the paint. Make sure you put pressure more towards the emblem when sliding it down so that it doesnt scratch the paint. Afterwards, i just used some GOO GONE to remove the sticky stuff. After a few coats of goo gone , you should be set.

I wouldn't be able to find where the emblems were if I tried. Even when I shine a bright light at my trunk lid when its dark out you can't see any differences in the reflection. Use a couple coats just to be sure, then go over the area with some wax.
kool thanks

have your tried using the #$@# search!??!?!! this $hit doesn't work 5 times out of 6 (I tested it). when it does work, it's good, but you susually have to do do 2-3 searches to find anythin useful.
next time you flame someone for not using the search, maybe you should think of the fact that this board has some major bandwidth and server issues.

in fact, I just tried to post this and I had to wait 5 mins before it would let me post...

There is some emblem adhesive that you can use to put it back on some where (like on the dash board in front of the passenger seat) http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=emb...t&cop=mss&tab=

Dental Floss Goo Gone From your local auto store and 10 finger nails ready to be ground down and bleeding j/k about an hour of working away at the glue not hard just time consuming

I know it's wrong to revive this thread again, but I think I might do it anyway. Does the current condition of your paint pretty much determine the amount of presence of the shadow effect? Or is it possible with the polish to make the shadow completely disappear? My paint is not bad, it's just as old as the car. I am hesitant to remove the emblem and have an unfixable cosmetic problem.
