What is the material they used on the pads? Aftermarket semi-metallic pads (like Rays or Wagner) tends to squeel.

Squeeky Brakes Remedy

I just bought my max a few months ago and the brakes were squeeky, I've been working on cars for quite a while now and i have the solution to this problem and i can bet any money on it, what do you do? simple buy the pads from the dealer!!! This goes for any car, your gonna pay a little more but they will work 100 times better, last longer and never squeak except unitl it's time to change them, i just changed mine last week, got them from the dealer and brakes are PERFECT now, Good luck There is no comparison Last longer, Never Squeak and stop better

shims and springs. if they are old/worn/missing then you have the noise.

pad material and rotor is 2nd thing to look at. but no brake manufacturer will make a pad that will just squeek and call it the day. u know how many complaints they are going to get?

lastly make sure the caliper is not sticky and the pins are greased up.

G-d I wish that was true. The nissan's are very fussy on their pads they squeak like a beatch on most brands. Just get O.E. or something that you KNOW won't squeak (preferably from personal use) or you'll be sorry.
I personally put autopart pads on my maxs front. They come with the hardware and are quiet to boot.
oh yeah I sell pads too

don't know about porterfields. but the IQ usually won't squeak nor the OEM (just don't get the prefered value pads) as you said.

BTW You got all the other stuff?

Ceramic pads.....

I work with parts stores and the latest raybestos catalog shows the ceramic pad as the OE replacement. I have raybestos ceramic pads on my car and they have not given me problems. Also if you decide to refinish your rotors be sure and wash your rotor with soapy water to take off any finite particles from the carving. If you do not, the fragments of metal go right into your pad the first time you apply the brakes and make them squeal.

I use Axis Metal Masters the ones $tillen sells. I had them on for 3 auto-x seasons and 50k miles no squealling problems here. Great stopping power and no fade issues or rotor warping. Installed them with slotted Power Slot rotors. Great upgade and a must for any 4th/5th gen Max to prevent rotor warping.

To remedy the squealling issue with Supras Brakes I used brake squeal grease. Not sure what brand but it came in a little {~4oz} orange bottle. I put between the pad and the shim and the shim and the caliper. I also made sure the caliper pins were greased and the springs were in good shape.

Sometimes it make take a few thousand miles for your new pads and rotor to break in
