Those of you who have removed your spare from your trunk, what would you do if you got a flat?

but I always carry my spare.

 

if it's nearby my area, i call up my friend to go pick up my spare from my house. if i'm outta town then i call farmers insurance.

but usually people keep the spare for daily driving, they only take it out for track, auto-x, etc.

 

And what about those of you who've taken it out for show purposes? I had that issue with my last car (90 Sentra), so I just made sure I had a can of Fix-a-Flat, a fully charged cell phone, and updated AAA membership.

 

Why would you want to take the spare out? Even if you had a can of fix'n flat, it's not going to save your trouble, since you'll never know what kind of puncture on the tire. Secondly, Triple A is a good idea but it will take you a while to wait for them depending where, what time of the day. Think about it, if you got a flat at night, where Triple A going to take you to get a tire that is open at night?. That's my two cent.

 

Since I have roadside assistance w/ State farm I usually don't worry about it. Plus, if it does go flat, I can usually drive a few miles without worrying too much (not very fast though, sub-25 mph for sure).

I have thought aobut taking it out, but I haven't yet. However, the other day I just realized I didn't have the lug wrench in my trunk that Nissan gave us. Oops.

 

Take AAA and throw it out the window, then look for a real road service provider.

AAA underpays there providers and the service is usually slow because of that.

In our area they pay $16 for roadside assistance including a tow, how fast are you moving a $60,000 tow truck for $16.

Check with your auto insurance, most have Roadside assistanse for less than triple A and the service will be better.

Or get Cross Country Motor Club, they pay.
