How come some sig pics are very clean and some are very "dusty"?

Did you all notice that some of us have very clean professional looking signature pics and some of us including me have very hazy looking signature pics.

When you go to a professional website, like Honda.com, Toyota.com, or any other, the pictures on those websites are very CLEAN, SHARP, GLOSSY, and high quality,(I'm talking about little pictures),
but when we take pictures with a digicam, how come we have to set it in super high resolution to get that glossy professional look?

It cant be just the file size(resolution) because Skimax has very good sig pic, and so does a few others, and their file size is not even over 50k.

How do I make my photos look that professional?

You all know what I mean, right? that sharp glossy clean look!

Do you need a really good digicam for that?

This is kinda OT, but it relates to taking better pictures of Maximas!

Here's a cheapy... take the pic at a really high resolution and then shrink it before posting the pic. Make sure you don't compress the jpg too much or the quality will not be good.

Shrink your pick down some more and it'll look better. IMHO, it looks fine as it is.

The camera you use has a lot to do with it. I take all my pictures with my Nikon CoolPix 950. Also, I finally put some pics into my student account for my sig pic, because something has gone wrong with geocities' image linking.

And remember to shrink it down to 72 dpi. Anything above that and you're just wasting bandwidth.
