Is it just metal under the carpet of the floor?

I've got some bulges popping out from the floor under the carpet of my max. I think it's from having the jack stands in the wrong place. Anyway, is it just metal under there? Can I just bang on it and try to pop it back flat? Do I need to take it to a shop? Am I screwed?

Thanks

Thanks guys. So how do I attack the carpet? What do I need to remove first?

To get the carpet out, you need to take the bottom plastic door pillar and rubber off (of each door, depending where you need to take the carpet out of). Also, take off the plastic door sill, the carpet is attached via clips alongside the bottom of the doors. Also, if you need to take out the rear of the carpet, i believe you have to take out the back seats, but thats a pretty easy job in itself...
