Paint Warranty??

As everyone knows already, the Nissan paint quality is not the best. I bought a slightly used 2003 Maxima SE about 2 weeks ago, and there's already about 20 chips on the front bumper/hood!!! Do you think I should go to the dealer and try to get them to cover it under the new car warranty? Or is this just something I will be cursed with for the life of my car. Thanks for the advice guys.

You are cursed. What's not to say that a gravel hauler didn't dump their load on your hood?

If every 5th gen had significant hood chips, then you could be in luck. However, there's plenty of org members who put on clear bras, regular bras and drive cautiously to avoid paint chips.

You could repaint the hood ... the car is only < 2 yrs old, paint should match up pretty well with the rest of the car.

what warranty? you will be cursed for the end of that car's days. do like me and carry around a matching paint can and go over any chips as soon as you can so they don't rust.. and really avoid being anywhere near trucks.

After you get the paint taken care of, get StonGuard for your car. You can get the whole bumper covered, the first few inches of the hood, and mirrors too.

Is StonGuard that clear plastic film they put on your car? If so, where and how much can you get that stuff for?

Thanks,

99.9% sure you'll out of luck. Paint chips are not a paint defect from Nissan, but caused from an outside source.
