Nope, still living with the noise. The cooler weather seems to have at least temporarily taken care of the difficult shifting...seems to be fine right now...but the noise is still there.
I'm going to see if it will make it until next spring. I really don't have the cash at the moment, and I'm out of warranty (71K). Since the tranny's going to be out, I'll go ahead and have a new clutch put in as well...probably Clutchmasters...and probably a lightened flywheel. But I'm going to ditch the idea of the Quaiffe limited slip differential. I *might* see if I can get ahold of a low mile used canadian viscous limited slip diff tranny. Figure ~$5-800 for that, plus I'd have to get the half shafts as well, but it may be a fairly cost-effective alternative to a rebuild of my existing tranny, plus I'd at least get some limited slip benefits.
