Great job!

I did my front turn signals first, because I didn't want to tackle all those LED's in the rear yet. The 12 per blinker are enough!

What kit is the aluminum trim around the shifter? Looks a bit lighter than the Joshua tree kit you got on the rest.

Very nice. How did you attach the bulbs to the housing? Glue? Just drill a hole? Are they all wired in series? Any resistors? etc.

1. When your wiring all this stuff together, I KNOW it's got to be pain to mount it all up THEN test it.....Im sure you don't do this sooooo....how do you test the leds out before you begin mounting stuff, you know...make sure they work. Do you use like a AA battery or something?

2. I see you go to Hofstra. Are you familiar wit Hempstead at all?

What kind of amperage do that many leds draw? You must have over 200 individual leds.

I don't test every single LED before mounting it, I'd be there forever. I buy them brand new so they all work without problems. Once I have them all mounted and wired (resistor on each one, wired in parallel) I just test it on the car battery to make sure all my solder joints are good to go.

I graduated from Hofstra in August and now I work in the Reckson Associates building on Merrick Ave. I can see campus from my 8th floor office

The piece around the shifter is actually from Jeff (aka Shadow) and doesn't look any lighter in color in person. The direction of the "grain" on the piece goes the opposite way of my Joshua Tree kit which might make it look lighter in pics. Another piece with the correct grain direction is on its way, just put this one in temporarily...

Drilled hole the right size so the LED fits in and the lip on the LED catches the edge of the hole. Hot glue where it meets the housing holds it in place for good.
Wired in parallel with resistors on each LED. Covered with rubber underbody coating for protection from the elements.

It's no secret on how to wire up LED's to 12v. Simple solder a resistor to the positive lead of the LED and connect 12v power and ground, you're done.

This is no secret, it's pretty much common knowledge. Wiring up the LED's is not the trick in these projects, it's gridding them out, drilling, mounting, etc.

Yea it seems pretty easy. i found some pre-drilled boards at an electronics store.
I figured it would be easy to shape the board then see where the holes are at.
Well here's the link. Someone may want to post it somewhere before the site goes down.

http://www.mmxpress.com/technical/wiringleds.htm
It kinda helps you figure out what resistor to use.
I hope this helps.

I found a link to a supplier of LED's but I'm not sure if they're cheap or not.
I found a local supplier of those Super Brights but at 3.99 it can get expensive.
They are blinding though.

heres the hong kong dude. My leds are shipped out, they take long but i guess its worth the wait. Better then buyin these leds for like 4.99 a pop at Radioshack.

Araffio...quick question, when u put orange leds for blinkers in the tails, how did they look??? are they worth buying? cuz i dont think cops like white turn signals. Anyways, do u have any pics of the orange leds?

So the higher the MCD the brighter they are? I saw some UltraBrights at an electronic shop and were like $4 ea. I didn't know how bright they were, but it almost made me go blind when I looked directly into them.

I never actually put the amber leds in my blinkers. I bought them and decided to go with white before I finished the project, so the white were the first ones I put in. I'm sure they'd look decent, I just think white looks 10x cleaner and nice.
It's a matter of preference.
